Apologies, yeah those were the stats I was referring to. I remember seeing it last week. A crazy statistic, horrifying.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't get disappointed at a bad result, particularly a Barnsley one. But I don't let it affect my weekend.

It's the life we were introduced into, often by our fathers, and the one we've decided not to leave behind, despite the years of disappointment. It's nobody else's fault but out own.

It used to spoil my weekend/day, then I became mildly annoyed for a few hours, then slipped into being a bit moody for an hour or so, then slowly became nonchalant about it all.

I'm 52, perhaps you're a little younger and are just on the same path?

Of course it’s natural to be disappointed but there’s more to life

Probably so, mate. I'm (nearly) 35, and with every passing year, I become less affected by it.

I can switch off very quickly after this kind of setback. I’m the same with the reds. Wasn’t always but I’ve mellowed with age and experience.

I haven’t a clue how I’d have felt had we beat Spain and won the whole shebang, I’d have loved to have found out but suppose you can’t miss what you’ve never experienced.

I suppose watching others implode is part of my healing process :)

My wife just asked me to beat her up so she doesn’t have to go to work tomorrow, but I can’t now, can I?

Except I'm not convinced that they did. Which is why this one is so hard to swallow.

Seen them all, excellent. Can't wait for the new series, beginning of September I think.

Seen too many of these to expect anything different but at least were getting to final's before the disappointment kicks in. The way we have played we've swum the channel to get to the final unfortunately well done Spain better side all the tournament and the better side last night.

I was disappointed with the result but not disappointed by the players' attitude or commitment. Spain are the best national side in Europe (possibly the World) and we came out fractionally second best. We created as many chances as Spain and on another day could have won. There were no glaringly controversial decisions by the ref and VAR was conspicuously absent (FA take note). It was a decent game played about as sportingly as you ever get in modern football so well done to both teams and both managers.

    I’d argue both.

Unai Simon, Carvajal, Laporte, Rodri, Ruiz & Williams would all get in our side in my opinion.

Imho i thought England probably did ok. Spain are a first class team and their thought and fluidity of movement was a good watch all tournament.
Any team would and did struggle to get to grips with them.
Red Helen had a great point which declared other teams have gone on to win and we need to find a way to do that.
At the moment we seem to be 2 squares behind the winners but we have a great platform with these players....perhaps it's just tweeks and tactical nouse....
