Just like Southgate then, but with entertainment thrown in.

Get the Greco-Aussie in and let's attack!

Id go for Mike Bassett, and then we could pick exciting players like Benson & Hedges, and Lambert & Butler lol.
    And we'd definitely be going 4- 4- f*king 2!!. :D

Lee Carsley for me. International management is a completely different game. Guy has won the U21 Euros and that's excellent pedigree. His teams play on front foot and we also get continuity within the set-up. Totally disinterested in a soap opera involving league managers, ie Klopp or Potter. As for Gareth, well done sir. You've left England immeasurably stronger and no longer a laughing stock.

Eddie Howe, best fit for me and for him imo. He his on a lucrative contract at Newcastle by all accounts(which means he is for a serious payout if he fails to deliver early next season), what I am saying is that the Saudis will look elsewhere soon as all the wealthy foreign owners do, so maybe a good time for Eddie to commit to England now because he may never get another chance, so go for the job whilst it available. I also think he has the qualities needed to make a good fist of it along with a more attacking attitude than Gareth. ........obviously Eddie could stick around at Newcastle and pick up the brass successful or not!

Unfortunately due to the last few tournaments the next manager will have to hit the ground running. It isn't a "project" anymore. That would rule out Pochettino or Potter.

Next tournament is the World Cup. Two years away. Get in someone like Conte or Mourinho in the short term. Then appoint a more long term manager after the World Cup and give them four years.

Then a "project" manager might suit with a Euro's used as a dress rehearsal for the World Cup.

We're that desperate to win a competition that our cycle is all wrong. Nobody gave a flying fornication about the Euros until 1988.

Build towards World Cups regardless of who's in the hot seat.

Just hand it over to the nation.

List of English players and positions to fill, 24 hours to vote before each match for the team selection and we vote using the red button for substitutions.

    What could go wrong. :D:D

I’d give it to Lee Carsley.

Won the latest European Championships with England U21s, known to the FA, plays good football, and familiar to/with many of the current first team.

I reckon Carsley is a good shout. FA might just follow the same blueprint they did with Southgate by promoting from within.

Spanish manager had won tournaments at u19 and u21. It is a path way, however with the talent we've got in the squad I think we need an "inspirer", someone who has won things at the highest level and can instill some belief in these players to go out and be their best selves.

I know he's not had the greatest career, but I wouldn't mind seeing Steven Gerrard given a go, possibly with Carsley as his assistant.

Alternatively if we went foreign I'd give Bielsa a go.

Winning the U21 Euros (Carsley) and the World U17 Cup (Steve Cooper) are both Solid Gold achievements. Many of the senior squad come directly from Carsley's team (Palmer/Anthony Gordon - he was player of the tournament) so he clearly can inspire.
Wouldn't let Gerrard or Lampard anywhere near personally. Hope the FA don't over complicate things and deffo want see another Englishman/ Brit in the role. I'd also offer Southgate another top tier job at Lancaster Gate.

Quite surprised not much mention of Unai Emery. Quality Manager, knows English game and players well. Positive style of play and just had a better season in the prem than most managers could ever dream of. I guess noone thinks he'll be willing to give up the Champions League?
