Just been down to pick up my Accrington tickets. Box Office is closed Wednesdays and Saturdays, open 10 till 4 other weekdays. Shop can't help cos it isn't part of the club. Hey ho.
Not being open on a Saturday is crazy. It's the busiest retail day of the week and we don't want to sell retail to people who can't pop down during the week.
Anyone know why the hours have reduced etc? Just wondered on the reasoning are they struggling to staff it etc?
It was announced last month tbf. Lack of communication wasn't the issue. Saturdays maybe an issue. But will be open on match days I assume. I usually go to the ground once or twice a week and apart from ticket rushes. No one else around only staff. Supply and demand i suppose sadly. Most stuff is done online. It's had that effect on most businesses. The problem with the club shop and box office they are now 2 different entities. I believe the folk in the club shop now work for fanatics solely. Maybe YT could clarify that one.
When it got quiet at our place we got rid of our dedicated trade counter and instead our reception staff now process orders. Why couldn't bfc do that? Last time I was in the box office I could see loads of members of staff working in the office that's actually connected to the box office
One for you to bring up to the Advisory board, They have their first meeting tonight online I believe. Contact details of each rep for each group, forthcoming I would imagine. A couple of previous comments on here I put forward.
Piss poor that you have to even suggest "man your sales counter on a Saturday" to apparent business people though isnt it
I can only think past sales of tickets on a saturday morning over the counter suggests not viable. They will be open around 20 sat games per season. If including a good cup run. 3 months closed season. Nothing happening. So around 20 saturdays where it would be considered. Like I say. Online ticketing will have cut over the counter sales drastically. Pre paid tickets could and should be, available to pick up in the shop. Modern technology. I went in a card stall on monday. Lass wanted to buy a card. She asked "Can I pay by card." "No" was the reply he didnt have the facility. She said "I'll nip to bank and come back" Aye o'reight. He asked her if she wanted it putting to one side. She said no need. Days of cash are numbered. Once that happens admin charges will be upped imo. And things like small traders and car boot sales will fold.
Excuse me, not being a native, I assume the club no longer has a town centre / market / Glassworks type concession?
All this trivial stuff will be forgotten in a few weeks, when we can get back to slagging the team & head coach off.
