Midfielder Close To Signing

According to the chronicle.

I wonder who it is? Says it’s not Keillor-Dunn.

 

The only other name we have been linked to is Marc Leonard but I can't see it being him to be honest. That would be some coup though if it was.

I suspect it will be someone not mentioned that they have kept quiet.

 

Yeah, or Liam Shaw at Celtic perhaps

 

Midfielders: Hourihane, Phillips, Connell, Russell, Styles, Benson, Wolfe,

Left backs, left wing backs, left wingers, players that can kick with their left foot without failing over: ???

Just saying like

 

I take your point but we do still need a midfielder. Styles will be sold and Wolfe/Benson are made of glass. Plus Hourihane has said himself he doesn’t expect to play now and he’s not the player he once was.

Yeah, I think you’re right. Hard to cut through all the crap you read these days.

 

Played well for them in one of the friendlies I think

 

We've got to get better at our squad balance. If we are trying to give a pathway for our young players, we can't block them off with a bloated squad. If we're playing 3-5-2 thats 3 central midfielders. Jay has listed 7. We need to get rid of players rather than this luxury spendthrift nature we have to buying players. And if players aren't ideal and are still on our books, we're still paying them. They need to be utilised or moved on. Part of the reason we've gotten into such a desperate financial position is this fixation on player trading. I'm sure we could have saved an awful lot of money by promoting some of our own kids given so many of the players we've spent millions on have been pretty average and failed to generate us any form of return.

There’s close to signing and then there’s close to signing for Barnsley which means he’s probably about two weeks away.

 

Could be Burnley.

I’m fairly ok with midfield…….if hourihane plays a fair bit and benson can be the benson we have seen glimpses of.

im still not convinced with any of our strikers or either full back positions - centre halves? Maybe if Robert’s can help bring on MDG we can get by with him and earl and hopefully Pines works out.

I read the article from Doug differently. He said there's a player close to signing and that it wasn't keilor-dunn from Mansfield.

My interpretation was that there is a player close to signing but not necessarily a midfielder. Suspect he's referring to Longelo perhaps?
