Or we’ll be signing players that let me guess need a few weeks to get up to speed so should be available late September early October.
We already have anyway. We wanted them in as preseason started on the 2nd of July. We then wanted them before going away on preseson which starts on Monday. So unless we start announcing some signings this weekend we have also missed that objective too.
Longelo, left behind by Birmingham who've gone to Austria, so it looks like weve done some good buisness, [ hopefully ]. left back, left wing back, left wing, sarnds like the reight man were looking for. C,O,Y,R.
The fact we’d agreed a fee over a week ago and he’s still not signed makes me think he might have changed his mind and let’s be honest he wouldn’t be the first.
Ano it’s no way near panic stations but stuff like this doesn’t bode well does it , god knows how far down the list we are now.
A week is very little time to get a deal done pal, I know we see rush deals on deadline day but usually a transfer takes 10-14 days.
You say it like it's a new situation. We're no more or less attractive to prospective players than we've ever been. The process they'll be going through to get players in will be almost identical to what it's always been. It's simply that social media now allows people to whip things up into a frenzy day in day out.
Completely agree - there's another thread on this site mentioning how one of our league rivals have just spent 4 million on 1 player, then people say how mad football is. We've done great business so far, and the simple fact is a lot of things will be outside the clubs control. We could spaff a large amount of money on one player again and he has an injury ala Hume, or turns out to be a Belgium fraud who Watford also paid 7 million for at one point. I have absolutely no doubt we've missed out on some targets, but I also have no doubt it's same for every single club - even Man City lost out on Rice for instance and they're made of money. We have a decent budget for this level but even non-league players are on thousands a week these days. Last season's window was a bit of mess, but we still signed some talent, including Pines in Jan. McAtee & MDG especially. But the window the year before was pretty good with Connell, Isted, Phillips, Cadden etc. This newer board is 1 for 1 for me so far, so I'm still giving them grace and having some patience - hopefully it will pay off.
No substance to this whatsoever but Ryan Wintle been left behind by Cardiff as they head out on their overseas pre season tour. Club has said they will listen to offers for him. Comes out a day or so after we are apparently close to a midfielder. Probably just a coincidence but who knows
Do we think that Conor will play at all then ?. I knew when we signed him, that it was all about his thoughts on moving into coaching, rather than playing. And that might even be the same as well with Mark Roberts. But I hoped he'd still have some time in him, maybe as a sub. With a few tricks up his sleeve again, ehh!.
I mean that's only his valuation according to that transmarkt site and I have no idea who comes up with those. They also value Styles at 2.5 million which is totally inaccurate
