Clare v Cork. What a fast game. No idea of the rules but end to end. No room for fannies in this very hard game.
Chuffing hurling on BBC2 at a time when, in the not too distant past, we would have been able to watch the final round of the Open golf. Why it was removed from the crown jewels of sporting events which had to be FTA I have no idea.
If I could go to one non-football sporting event in my lifetime, it would have to be one of the all-Ireland finals. Hurling or Gaelic footy, don't really care. They both look absolutely immense.
Only seen bits of it, but I love hurling and Gaelic football. Proper fast paced action. Refreshing to watch amateurs, because it clearly means more to them than it does a lot of footballers who play the game for a living.
Same, I was once over in Ireland for a wedding when one of the finals was taking place, and the atmosphere across the whole country was incredible.
Sheffield Wednesday syndrome. Ireland's 'second city', 'the real capital', 'the people's republic of Cork'. Backed up by a history of underperformance and failure. Also I'm from Kerry, so was born not to be a fan.
Did you have a look for tickets? Most of them are sold through the clubs I think as my aunt has been a couple of times with Mayo, but I suspect they probably go for a fair whack on resale sites.
Get hold of the ball wack it a big un & if anyone gets in way tough ! Liked it when ref got injured put on a plaster then got on with it. Now captain is giving a victory speech
