Went and saw his house before they knocked them all down. Played with his brother Tony and his cousin Mark at Ackworth. One of England's best openers. 100 centuries is some effort.
A legend when I was cricket mad kid. Loved his commentary work later in life too. Told it as it was and upset a few but always entertaining to listen to. Hope he pulls through.

Certainly not but he was a regular opener in ODI’s for England. Expected scoring rates were much lower then though
As with many modern players.. Someone of Boycotts quality could have adapted his game to new challenges, such as T20 or higher general scoring rates if it came along in his time. Probably be grumpy about having to mind. Wishing him the best and hoping he can recover from this.

In his formative years GB grew up playing 20 overs cricket and had all the shots. When he moved into the first-class game he taught himself to cut out the riskier shots that end to get you out cheaply in order to give himself a better chance of batting longer. If being more expansive would have resulted in earning bigger contracts I`m pretty sure he would have done it.
Without doubt. If you can bat, you can bat. It was more a playful nod towards his reputation as a steady Eddie and the story of his team mate aiding his dismissal.
A proper batsmen. Excellent technique, brave facing some of the best bowling attacks of all time and a true legend of the game. I'm sure he'll be very cranky if he doesn't get a final century.
Hand eye co-ordination some can only dream of but often got bogged down waiting for the bad ball..as a Batsman one of the best. as a partner running between the wickets don't get too settled..
