For those who travelled to accrinngton on Saturday what do we make of the fanzone cos for me it was top drawer .They have spent £2 million quid on a purpose built fanzone so my next question is how and why can they afford it at league 2 level with best crowds of around 5k and were stuck with 2 free brollies and a trailer to serve beer .Well done accrington I say fans obviously a big part of there plans unlike us stuck out in the cold

Said it before but the land where the grove st school was would seem perfect for a purpose built fanzone but last time i looked it was just a overgrown eyesore

Council won't allow the change of use that would be needed.

It's an excellent venue. One of very few away grounds I watch Barnsley at where getting to the ground early is worthwhile because of having a place next to it you can have a drink.

Fleetwood and Burnley are another two.

The point is though that as much as there in league 2 now they managed to do it and still keep going a long term investment

Remains to be seen whether or not it's a long-term investment though. If it loses money year in year out, it won't be much of one. Obviously away fans love it. Totally get why. They haven't paid for it though.

It would be just a fanzone it could be used as a club house / sports bar open daily and for events a great investment for me

I believe we have a plan to build a fan zone elsewhere on the BFC footprint. Just wont be where the school is.

Maybe they might see things differently now they own 100% of Oakwell surely its in there interest to make the area around the ground as inviting and vibrant as possible.

They should crowd fund it. Would gauge how serious the fans are about having one.

The opposite isn't it? They've got tennants secured to a long term lease but are now responsible for the maintenance costs which they need to somehow find from the rent alone. It's in the councils interest to have the least amount of wear and tear put on the stadium as possible isn't it?

A suggestion I've made repeatedly for years going back as far as Patrick and the don and to the supporters trust too. The answer has always been no or at least it's never been yes
