Still a free agent. Would be great at this level.

For once, I thought I'd actually heard of a player being suggested on here and was in full agreement he'd be a great signing.

Then I realised I was thinking of this lad: David Connolly - Wikipedia

I think the confusion arose because he has a normal name. If he'd been Aaron-Jacob O Connelly-Donnelly-McBonnelly I'd have skimmed past it and assumed he was a proper footballer.

He must be on somebody’s radar; 24, free agent, did ok at hull last season in a side which flirted with the playoffs - wasn’t a regular starter but 8 goals in 28 appearances at championship level - totalling only 1200 minutes so a goal every 150 minutes. Not shabby.

I imagine a championship club might take him but if he was available for a reasonable wage (which isn’t likely) he should be on the radar certainly.

Wages are probably the reason he's not found another club. He'll probably end up at Birmingham.

If he'd be willing to fit into our wage structure then yes I would take a chance.

But if not, I wouldn't be upset if the club gave it a wide berth. I'm sure we have plenty noted that we could chase and who would appreciate being here as well

This does appear to be a potential 'bad egg'

No doubt he has quality but a proven history of issues off the field. If he has grown up and wants to crack on he would be a good pick up, but it would be a risky one and one maybe above our wage structure

    Based on that article?
Gotta be honest and say nothing on there that most young lads haven’t done in some form.
Could have just been young and immature.

    Yeah of course.

There is being a bit young and daft and then there are some of the things there in that article that go further than that. I can safely say I have never had Police round due to a bust up with my missus, nor would I be daft enough disappear off to a music festival when absent from work through injury/illness.

Especially given the reaction to us possibly signing Ladapo in the other thread last night, where he was shut down as a bad egg and terrible character when he has no previous like this lad has.

One or two things like that are a mistake that you learn and grow from. Several like you see in there is a trend and that's the worry

All done in a short period of time, as for your examples, we don’t know the context, perhaps the police being called was an over zealous neighbour? Perhaps she over reacted? Perhaps it was needed.
And having say a broken toe & being on crutches as a footballer and going to a concert is completely different to ringing in sick saying you feel ill.

Two examples spring to my mind Roy Keane who in his first couple of years at Forest got into way more trouble than listed there but he settled down and did alright.
The other is Hamill by he did wrong recognised it and turned his life round.

What I’m saying is if the gaffer speaks with him and feels he’s right then maybe the lad deserves a chance before he’s written off.
