    Tells you all you need to know about the party as well. Polls all showed Michelle Obama was the only one who could stop Trump and they didn't try and get her.

    Every poll I've seen shows it much much closer than that with some polls showing Harris leading

    It doesn’t matter if Harris beats Trump in the popular vote. The US electoral system is even more corrupt than the UK one - and that’s saying something.

    Some votes are irrelevant; California, Florida, Texas, New York to name 4 of the biggest. It’s all about getting votes in the areas that matter.

    I'm not an expert, but I remember Florida being swing in the past - with Bush's victory a few years ago completely dependent on the result there.

    Biden would have lost. I think Harris will win now as long as she runs a good campaign. Obviously if she wins she wont actually have won, she'll have stolen the election. And if Trump wins there wont be any more elections anyway. Joy!

    lot of people are unhappy with Desantis and Abbott in Texas and Florida, lots of floating Latino voters and there has been a large demographics shift in Texas especially. The Harris campaign is visiting these states, which means their internal polling must say they could be close.

    also something not to forget, US elections aren’t won on Twitter they are won by having a good ground games and getting out the vote. Feel like the republican strategy is to show massively skewed polls to show trump winning by a 10 point margins to try make the dems stay away on polling day.

    you probably looking at direct head to head polls. One shows Harris winning, the rest show Trump up by 2 or 3%. Harris needs to be in the lead by at least 5% to stand a chance. The head to head polls are pretty meaningless as they are based on the popular vote which always favours Democrats. It’s electoral collage votes that count so you need to look at the direct polling of the swing states. Trump is winning all of them apart from 1 at the moment so could be an electoral collage landslide.

    That's Republican FOX attempting to ensure complacency doesn't set in in the red camp. Then you have the blue camp with CBS, CNN, MSNBC (without looking) telling people that Harris is closing in or has it at a tie with Trump.

    The truth, I would imagine, lies closer towards Trump being well Infront. I say that as he clearly has a huge following, and Harris is an absolute dim-wit of the highest order, it's almost as if the Democrats want to lose!

    That's very much in the past. Florida is an absolutely nailed on Trump state; Texas very similar. The Latino vote is now essentially Trump. one of the reasons Pennsylvania has now become so important.

    This contest is just getting started. Right now Trump is trying to find something that sticks. Trying out nicknames but nothing catchy so far. Even prominent republicans pointed out calling someone married to a Jew antisemitic is a daft angle

    If she runs a good campaign then the polls will change a lot. Biden was losing because people were either switching to RFK jr or not voting.. not because they were flipping to Trump. There is a lot of votes to be won for her and basically a fixed target to beat. Trump could do everything or nothing and he'll still get the exact same votes as 2020.

    Trump has a huge cult following that follows him around the country, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll get more votes.

    We were meant to have a red wave in the mid terms but that never happened.

    Nicky Haley voters now favouring Harris. as are younger voters, Hispanics and blacks.
