She has got me fooled, as has the company I work for and training courses I go on, the reading, behavioural and cultural workshops and seminars. I'm glad I waste my time with this and feel so much better now with the reasoned insightful guidance of the BBS. I'll let my gaffer know its bxllocks. I now understand that JAQ does all this for her own gain and greed and cares nothing about progressing our club.
Whether it not it's ******** @Duntpasstome will be whether or not women/ people with a disability/ ethnic minorities get the high profile jobs.
The fact that people can get so irate over the colour of shorts because 'tradition' is why the world is so broken. Quick question. Red shorts in the premier league or white shorts in league 1?
I think people are less vexed by the colour per se and more the demonstrable nonsense being talked in public by a member of our board.
It might be nonsense in your opinion but demonstrable is extremely debatable. It's a gesture of positivity in Response to how women have been treated for generations, not just in sport but in all industries. My biggest concern in all of this is what the real reason is behind all the open criticism of everything JAQ does. Because it's not just this she takes stick for, it's everything she does or says.
Jesus wept man, you don't half talk some *****...... Another do gooder on the BBS, full of em. Just accuse him of been a sexist and have done with it.
Hi Helen, I believe this BFC really does promote deliver women / ethnic in high profile positions. We as supporters should celebrate that and be proud. JAQ for one I believe is incredibly good for our club and I do get angry with the negativity against her.
Nope, not valid imo. I'm usually one of her staunchly supporters on here and remain so. That doesn't mean I think she gets everything right.
I think that emphasises my point though. Because so many blanket criticise her every move, general and fair criticism gets buried. I also find it bizarre that one season of the kit bring different as a showing of solidarity is worth getting as upset as some are on here. Next season's kits will have white shorts. With or without the criticism.
Absolutely. You can't argue you've gone against 100+ years of history for inclusivity reasons and then have a bloody white away kit. It's total nonsense!
Well, I don't give her stick for everything she does, but I think this was a mistake, and the reasons given are just ridiculous. At least admit it was a fashion choice. Given our away kit, none of the excuses given stack up. We shouldn't be messing with our identity in this way, IMHO.
As I said in my response to Churton, the fact that some blanket criticise everything she does, takes weight away from legitimate criticism. It's the David Lammy problem
DEI has been cut back dramatically recently mate. Almost half in some cases. Including Google,Meta, Zoom, Microsoft, Amazon amongst many other huge companies. There's absolutely no reason for the men not to wear white shorts, completely fine with the women doing it - they still represent us & we represent them. Don't take away from the fans when it isn't necessary.
Common Gally, she's not knocked down a Sir Ronny statue, it's a pair of shorts colour for 12 months, if it's raised some inclusivity debate in the process then great. Going against 100 years of history what a massive over exaggeration.
Come on mate I like your posts but taking away white shorts for a season from the fans, surely no one is losing any sleep over that.
I havent read all the replies mate so apologies if i have jumped the gun, wasn't aware it was for just 1 season - if that's the case then fair enough, we've had plenty of 'experiments' done in the past
I think that's all it is, if its red shorts next season I'll join the melt down as well. Bloody JAQ making us where red shorts, destroying the clubs history, disrepecting the supporters, making us a laughing stocking all for her to make millions on her new red shorts business she has set up.
It's exactly the same problem as with David Lammy, i agree, you're quite right. A deliberately provocative person expounding utter nonsense who, when their rubbish is called out and met with a rational argument, resorts to claiming discrimination and intolerance when there is only reasoned - and reasonable - objection. It's exactly like Lammy, I couldn't agree more.
