    I spent two years commuting to work on and off to Southport / Birkdale and made some lifelong friends.
    My thoughts are with them and their community tonight.

    I aint looking nowhere mate, only seen it on news, but why isn’t someone in the know (Police/Government) coming out and making a statement that will clear this up, boollox to legality, the bloke(they call him a boy), is clear cut the culprit the *******, so name him and help stop the unrest

    It's against the law to name him. Like it or not we can't start bending the rules as we see fit. I suspect they will plea to a judge to try him as an adult and waive anonymity but it will have to be done through a proper process with a right to appeal before the judgement is enforced.

    Because that’s what these poor families need, a bunch of racist randos descending on their streets, smashing things and setting fire to police vans. The lasses who escaped the most terrifying thing that could ever happen in their lives now having riots happening outside their windows.

    Mate, the law is the law. It can't and won't be changed on a whim in any civilised country.

    I get tensions are high, but let's keep the grieving families in mind rather than the perpetrator. He deserves to be an irrelevance, the law will deal with him fully in due course.
