Hey Dreamy kid, yeah this discussion involves you especially mate lol.
Do you remember the amazing Summerslam in Aug '92, at Wembley.
Well apparently Sadiq Khan has met with Triple H this week, about us getting a 'big' ppv again here in the Uk. ;)

I used to watch it back then too, late 80s into very early 90s, when we first got Sky. Ultimate Warrior was my favourite.

I think after the success of running AEW All in at Wembley, everyone now knows it's viable to fill a huge stadium in the UK for a wrestling show. Running Wrestlemania here is inevitable. Just bear in mind it's booked up for 2 or 3 years already so it won't be immediate.

There’s already been better wrestling in the UK in the last year, All Elite Wrestling at Wembley, 82,000 there. Similarly large attendance expected this year. **** the WWE.

To be fair I was at All in last year and going again this year.. but I'd also love to go to a Mania at some point!

    Are you going to All-in?

Used to be a big fan of WWE. Tried to watch AEW but just couldn't get into it. Just always felt so low budget and crap that it took me out of it.

Yeah the production isn't as grand but the in ring quality is on a completely different level. MJF and Will Ospreay went a full hour in a TV match last week and it was unreal. One of the greatest wrestling matches of all time. Although in fairness Ospreay has had a dozen or so of those over the last few years.

When i watched it it just seemed like synchronised swimming or gymnastics to me.

WWE always felt like a theatre show or something, whereas AEW just didn’t. To me at least.

In fairness though i was never a huge fan

If Will Ospreay gets the place he's been pushing for for years then I'll be there in a flash

I've been to see them live 3 times now, at the Sheffield Arena.
The first time was a week after Wrestlemania in '99 (it was part of The European Attitude Adjustment tour!), on Easter Good Friday, Apr 2nd.
And it was the perfect Sheffield based weekend for me actually lol.
Because the day after, I was there at Oakwell to see Craig Hignett score twice, and we beat the Sheff Ure Blunts. :)

Tbh Dreamy mate, I think they over-do Wrestlemania now way too much, as it drags on and on, covering two nights!.
And I wouldn't be surprised if they start doing this to the Summerslam as well in the coming years, as it's allegedly the next best ppv after Mania. But I disagree though, I still prefer the Royal Rumble as the next best show lol.
They do make good money out of us here in the Uk, so I've always hoped they would give us one of their main ppv's of the year. Instead of the half-hearted Rebellion and Insurrextion shows we used to get. ;)

And here it is, my favourite Wwf video of all time (for various reasons, maybe!). ;)
The 'Taker was back again, and it's 20 years ago now ehh!, and with Paul Bearer as well, and its against Kane!.

Never been to a live event in the UK, just can’t justify the money for a house show, plus I’ve been waiting for a Wrestlemania or another SummerSlam to happen over here to enjoy my first live event, was gutted the last two Clash at the Castles were in Wales & Scotland.

AEW is awful btw, that company is so unprofessional, full of ex WWE rejects, and not a thought for the safety of the wrestlers with some of the spots they do on a regular basis. Just watch Edge jumping off the cage the other month, what was he thinking?

Any fans of wrestling, I fully recommend the Doc on Netflix with Al Snow running OVW, way better than AEW & gives a good idea what the business is really like, albeit on a smaller scale than WWE.

Can’t take this seriously whatsoever. AEW is a superb product with the best wrestling on earth. WWE has become a parody of itself, and I used to be an obsessive fan of WWE.

I assume Edge was thinking he would jump of a cage and entertain his fans. Wrestling has become a lot safer than it used to be but from what I see in clips AEW appears to be trying to recapture the late 90s.
I think those peak years are long gone and the Internet and death of kayfabe are large factors why it will never be able to go back.
