I’m expecting a few more loans, mainly a keeper, but a couple of strikers, however they’ll happen close to deadline day, so yes we’ll start the season with this strike force
Correct, Marsh is & will never be up to the required standard, Watters is a waste of space & I don’t see that changing anytime soon. We are reliant on Cosgrove picking up where he left off last season, & Jalo miraculously being good enough, when in my opinion he’s not, & would benefit with a loan move.
He’s an interesting one this Mipo lad. Reading up on him he was highly rated in youth football at both Man Utd and West Ham. A few top clubs in Europe wanted him too when West Ham didn’t renew his contract. Is he just one of those that just hasn’t kicked on or would he thrive if we give him the chance? Got a feeling we’ll take the gamble but not sure it’d be the right move. We desperately need a proven goalscorer.
Agree. I think he will be an appeasement signing when the reality is he looks way off the requirement. Obviously I hope he comes good and makes me look daft, but my gut is I would rather invest in starting Jalo.
He’s gonna be with the 21s mate has signed a contract for us now not sure when that will be announced
I think Cosgrove and Watters has the potential to be an excellent strike partnership at this level. I concede there's vey little evidence that highlights this, and I can understand why many believe we're in desperate need of a couple of strikers, but I think they're both a lot better than we've seen from them so far and we'll start seeing it this season.
We are due a striker to kick on and be a world beater, only to be sold in January for peanuts… so let’s hope it’s one or both of them (not the selling bit).
I hope you're right. Certainly, after the last campaign, both should be looking at this season as a chance to turn around their career trajectory. Might be me and my rose tinted glasses, him being a local lad and all but I'm not as quick as some to write Marsh off either.
I think in general play Watters looks pretty terrible. However, I think he may be a decent finisher and his positional sense in and around the box is pretty good. Might suit him playing with someone like Cosgrove who can do a lot of the spade work. Having said all that, I'd much prefer it if we still had Cole in the squad.
Agree with Cosgrove but I just don’t see it with Watters. He’s had one good season with Crawley in L2 but other than that very little. With us he’s shown nothing to suggest he might score goals on a regular basis.
