    when i moved to west midlands in 2006, i lived in Short Heath where he was born and him and his brothers lived, now live not too far away in Willenhall but still Barnsley through and through Happy Birthday Sniffer Clarke

    Alan Clarke was the Manager when I first worked at Oakwell on matchdays as a 16 yr old doing voluntary Work Experience. One of my jobs was to put flowers out in the Board room and Offices and take programmes to all the rooms.
    Alan Clarke was so friendly. Always asked how I was (even though he probably had no clue who I was), and was always appreciative of everyone.
    He liked a smoke though, which i found surprising really.
