I love the lad, and we all know what he can do. But he does need a nudge to get back to being the player we love and I think Matthew Craig might just be that nudge.

Got potential to play top end of the Championship but he’s not at that level yet. Too inconsistent and goes missing. Not basing it on tonight as I wasn’t there but he wasn’t great last season but struggled with fitness.

I can see Craig edging him out of the team when Clarke fancies Hourihane.

I hope not, because he's an excellent player and when on form is probably one of the best in the league, I know his illness & injuries have had an impact but he's a proper laiker. Even when not on top form last season, you could see the difference when he wasn't playing, especially when Kane dropped deeper to play his role, or with Russell. Obviously, despite him being a loanee, if he does keep Connell out then fair play to the lad because I think it'll be a tough job so he'll have definitely had earnt it

I’ll be honest, I don’t get the love in. And his shooting is horrific.

I hope not cos he’s quality at this level and he’s one of my favourite players but I just can’t see how these fitness concerns he has regularly won’t impact his season. I really hope I’m wrong but if Craig is getting in front of him, it obviously means he’s doing something right. I’m not writing off Russell either as I feel he’s got so much to offer if consistent.

I think Russell is quite decent when he's on the ball, the issue for me is he's supposed to be a defensive midfield, but he's so slow with recovery of the ball, his tempo & aggression is all out of sync. Honestly if he were to play I'd rather him be a bit further up, or at least at the side of another defensive player

Thought he was excellent last night. Ran midfield, on and off the ball. Better than he'd been all last season. Still can't shoot like.

Terminal insomnia. Haven't had more than 3 or 4 hours sleep since my early 20s.

Agree. Connor would be the first name on the team sheet next week. Connell like one or two others are still playing with last seasons boots on. With Earl and Cosgrove Mael.. will all have to move up a gear

I think we have to write last season off for Luca whatever illness he had he was never fit. The og Luca is back and it's good to see but I think the Spurs lad could be something special two footed the spot for Lofthouse goal I'm excited to watch if he's as good as I think he is.
