I had a read of their forum yesterday, and Vickers is expected to be their back up keeper, they've just not signed a new number 1 yet. He's made a career out of being an understudy.
Yeh' i thought Earl looked very suspect first half but as you say the wing back let him down somewhat' it was the same with cotter 2nd half' our wingbacks need to concentrate on both aspects of their role' its alright wanting to bomb forward but you can't keep leaving your centre backs exposed. Entertaining game to watch though' lots of positives.
Surprised they released Wildsmith under the circumstances. Assumed they'd have had something in the pipeline. Turns out it's not just us who have issues in the transfer market. Who'd have thought?
I thought we looked a lot more positive last night. The dull side to side and back passes weren't so much in evidence, only when we had to. The new coach has hopefully chosen a different way for us to play which we will enjoy, and maybe it will bring out the best in our players who were probably stifled by negativity last year.
Think the rumour was that Wildsmith turned down a new deal. Aye, someone said on here the other day they'd like us to have 90% of our business done before the season starts, and I reckon there won't be a single club in the leagues who will be in that position by next weekend.
Bonkers prices. Have we stopped selling warm drinks or have they just forgot to put the prices up? People really should boycott at them prices.
Is that a £7? I thought it was £2!!! Mental, especially as it's not exactly tricky to bring a couple of Twixes into the ground with you.
I’m missing first game of season too hopefully they’ll have some phone reception in Oban so I can catch it on the phone. See ya satdi!
Just watched the Derby goals via there Facebook. I’d be disappointed if their first goal wasn’t given offside during a league game. Clearly blocking keepers view. (Tried my best to pause the shot at the right time).
I said same thing to my mother about it being offside if VAR in a proper game. I certainly think so anyway matey.
No team in any leagues has 90% done. It has been a slow window all round really, I think a combination of major tournaments (Euros, Copa America and Olympics) has meant many big clubs have had players on extended breaks meaning they need to use younger lads in pre season. Plus all these overseas tours the big teams go on again delays them releasing loan players and selling on fringe players. It all just has a knock on effect down the leagues as players are not getting moved on and then other clubs wont release players until they have their targets in and so on.
Looks like that's the bar in the middle of the East Stand Upper, which serves beer, but not hot drinks. There are two other outlets on either side of this which serve coffees, etc but no alcoholic drinks.
Was delighted to see Marsh score after someone suggested on here the other day that he's not good enough to make a living playing football. He clearly is and I actually think he's better that the vastly overrated Jalo.
