Karl Hein interest mentioned, looking at a loan keeper from prem clubs and he's one option. Still interested in Keillor-Dunn Gent should be announced today. Styles future still in doubt Loan interest in Lopata from teams in Scotland
The làd from Mansfield may go through after next Friday. Clough was never going to let him come to us before the opening game.
Think its likely to go through? Seems like it'd really strengthen us Still think we need another forward on top of that though
Perhaps we want him as our main formation, him playing behind Cosgrove and then if we do want more than just him upfront, use more of Marsh, Jalo and Watters? I'd still not risk not bringing in a natural striker though
I'm not sure I necessarily buy that unless they've got someone lined up to replace DKD (if indeed we do sign him). It's risky leaving it to the last few weeks of the season to try and replace your best player. Surely a smarter thing would have been to let him leave 2 weeks ago, to give them the opportunity to replace him. If anything, they know all about him and will know how to deal with him if he were to line up for us. I'm not saying you're wrong, but for me, I think it's as likely that we just haven't met their valuation yet.
Presuming Gent is a formality, Davis Keillor-Dunn would be a real statement signing. I certainly think it puts us in the mix. Whilst our business has been slow, the early signs are that all of the players we've brought in will improve us. The style of play seems to point to us being a bit more attacking too. I worry again whether we're going to ship a fair few goals, but if Wednesday night is anything to go by, I think we'll outscore more teams this season. For the first time in a few years, I actually think we have a number of young players who I'd be happy giving game time to as well. Jalo appears ready to make the step up, Marsh looks sharper and the likes of Yoganathan and Bland look like they could do a job at this level too.
If Lopata goes out on loan as expected I would assume he would be in and around the mix this season providing we don't bring any others in.
Karl Hein would be a very good loan signing. He’s been around that squad for a while and also traveled to the US with the squad and did well. They’ll be keen to get him out on loan this year - but, and this is a big but, I’m not sure if he will be allowed to leave just yet. Big questions over Ramsdale’s future mean until that is resolved, and another comes in to replace him, they may leave this until late on in the window…..
This goalkeeper situation feels a little bit muddled. We don't need 3 keepers in first team contention. Haven't we Flavell who could be used in an emergency too? We had the option of releasing Killip. If we weren't sure Smith was ready at league 1 level, why sign him? We could loan one of them out, but its unlikely we'd claw back what we're paying in wages. We've really got to get smarter at stuff like this.
Seems like we aren’t giving up but have been told that due to the injuries they picked up last week he can’t go currently whether we meeting thr price or not
