I don't believe Helen is a bigot....and you repeating the allegation ad infinitum does not make it true...in fact the way you seem to be hounding her makes you appear at best a bit of a zealot...there's a very fine dividing line between zealotry and bigotry that you need to recognise.

That's a hugely offensive accusation to make against a fellow poster, simply because you happen to disagree with them on a hugely controversial topic, which most politicians have to tip-toe around to avoid offending one side or other. I'm shocked to see that it's come from someone whom I don't class as one of the 'usual suspects' on here.

Your definition of "JK Rowling syndrome" essentially captures any female who has concerns about losing access to female-only safe spaces, potentially to individuals who simply self-identify as female, which I don't think is an unreasonable position for anyone to adopt. It's an immensely complex and highly-charged issue, precisely because of blanket accusations of this type being made against people you don't agree with.

I have no particular 'skin in the game' on the issue, but I'm genuinely shocked by the content of that post.

 

That's not what I meant. Of course genitalia alone doesn't define sex, it's just 99% the way it's done when a baby is born. Your chromosomes determine your sex.

She’s been doing so consistently for years. Maybe not in those words specifically, she’s too careful with her words to say that directly. but through dogwhistling and making up fake people that committed crimes as an example of what could happen etc.

It's clear we are way apart on opinions here so it's probably best just to end the discussion and nor fully derail the thread.

 

So she hasn't said the thing you are accusing her of because "she's careful with her words"
I've only scanned those as I'm on my phone and they are unpleasant to scroll through on my phone. So I will have a read tonight.
I will say if we are using rapists being classified as female as an example of her being bigoted I'm not sure what's right and wrong anymore myself.
But as I say I did ask for examples and you have taken time to provide them so I will give them a thorough read.

Trans men would be allowed to compete against cis men in most sports.

And quite right too - if they want to. They’d be genetically disadvantaged you’d argue - so if they can and choose to compete, great.

It isn’t fair on the athlete, who I think we mainly all agree has done nothing wrong at all.
