Especially when he doesn't want to be here anymore.

And remember, every player as well as him clicked that season under Val, and did better than expected.
I thought he/Styles looked poor recently for Hungary, just his usual uninterested self again. And I also just can't believe he's a regular Intl player.
We desperately need to get rid because he wants out as well, and its only going to get worse, not better.

If he doesn’t go before the start of the season let’s see what Clarke can get out of him? If he doesn’t tow the line and get working then he can play for u/21s for season or warm a bench somewhere in Hungary, shocking attitude from a International Football player

Yeah he has maybe got that one remaining reason to stay, and that's to work with the new boss Clarke.
Apparently he and all the others are being given a clean slate by the new boss, and that's a good thing.
But I agree that he has a disappointing bad attitude, and I don't think its going to improve.

Does anyone have it on good authority that Styles has got a bad attitude or is it all made up guesswork??
Seems an easy thing to chuck at a player and it's generally the better players that have performed for us at some stage, ie Cole, Kane.off the top of my head.

We'll see. He can't use the 'wanting to play in a higher league to help his chances of playing in an international tournament' excuse now.

Ahh you mean like Micky Helik did, regarding his desire to stay in the Championship, to help his Poland World cup chances.
And I hear that went badly for him. ;)

I like Styles and if he stays it's a big season for him with his contract running out but I also see the logic that selling him might help Clarke to bring 2 or 3 quality players in, I'm just not a fan of the bad attitude stuff when it's probably complete guesswork.

Yeah fair enough, that's a good question.
I'll agree that it is maybe down to what we hear, rather than what we know.
But it looks like the Millwall and Sunderland fans saw through him, and also weren't impressed.
And while it was in a poor Hungary team, I thought he looked uninterested in the brief time that he played.

I respect your opinion AT but I can't imagine for one second that he was uninterested while playing in the Euro's.

Yeah that's because I keep saying he looked or seemed uninterested. I'm not saying he actually was of course, because nobody can know that, apart from Callum himself.

Rumoured bid of £600k from WBA for Styles according to Sky. I’d snap their hands off at that if true.

I agree with most on here that he should be moved on - but I must admit I do find it funny as a Barnsley fan, the amount of times I read that the board are penny pinchers, always sell cheap & first offer, they're tight as fook etc, and now we have fans saying selling him for next to nowt:D

Since this new board has been in place I don't think we can accuse them of being penny pinchers or selling on the cheap. We did great business with Andersen & Kitching, we've turned down numerous bids over the years for Styles, we've kept first teamers who only have 6 months on their contract to try and gain promotion instead of selling them whilst on form. I honestly believe they're learning!

Can't believe people would sell him for less than Dunn would cost. Sell a guy with lots of Championship and international experience and the fee wouldn't even cover bringing in Dunn who's never done it above league two level.

I’d be happy for Styles to stay and play for us this year - I think he’s a decent player and has something to offer.

Going into the final year of his contract though, I think the club will look seriously at offers and whether he’s likely to sign a new contract off the back of a good season. Financially there’s probably a strong incentive to recover some of what we’ve spent on fee and wages rather than to end up with nothing to show.

Is his supposed bad attitude true or yet something else made up that the sheep follow?

im old school mate if you are an international footballer you represent that country every time you tie your boot laces up even when you’re playing for your home team. From last season he did look uninspiring when he played though, I hope he buckles down for Clarke and produces the performances that we all know he can, if he’s sold so be it
