Poor to run out of beer. It happened all those years ago when we hosted England Under 21s. It's one thing it happening at a Barnsley match, but really bad at an alternative event.
That was terrible, they ran out before kick off! They were having to give out little cups of water because of the heat.
This was over an hour ago. You’d think they get more staff on and order more beer. They’re haemorrhaging money.
It was like a street fight they’d have struggled to manage a couple of more rounds at that pace. Great watch tbf
Why are they just always so bad at anticipating demand? I imagine they thought of it like a football match with one half time and one opportunity for a pint, rather than realising that there’ll be some fights people aren’t that bothered about or that people will get one after every few fights and make a proper evening of it.
Tbf I went to see Tyson Fury at the new Spurs Ground the other year - queuing for beer then as well, so not just us. Also, I suppose the club don’t want everyone getting mangled either - big night on TV and all. Most will have supped before and will supp after.
I get the feeling my Dad, who had a 'do' for his 80th, with 60 guests, and purchased 2 bottles of wine and 24 tins of John Smiths (and a bottle of lemonade TBF) ...... could have run tonight's catering better.
Pies or sarnies, I get, but beer?? Never have understood why they run out of stuff that isn't that short dated and they'll be selling again next week
Good match up but with as many wild misses as hits. Both really strong and aggressive but both far too easy to hit to step up a level. Great tear up though and good to see fights where either fighter could win, rather than some shipped in Eastern European club fighter brought in to pad the record of a fighter the money men want to hype up. 2 good battles so far.
Probably exactly that. Got the same amount in as they would for this sized crowd at a football game. Stupid for all the reasons you said, but also because you’re allowed to drink in your seat at boxing so people probably getting 2 or 3 and taking them back to their seats
Really sad and disappointed to read this. Such a spectacle and absolutely zero anticipation of folk wanting beer. It's almost like they don't want to sell it
