I understand this point mate, but if multiple people keep saying it and they're all 100% sure, surely its better to name them than allow innocent others to take the brunt and get accusations? If it is all based on rumour then shame on them for spreading it

 

Not a good idea to be specific about what will undoubtedly become a criminal case.

 

Tough call TBH, cos on one hand you are right why let them get away with it or allow a place to hide on the other someone can think they are 100% right and still be wrong.

Set the dogs on em, charge at em with batons, set tear gas on em, etc!.
Its maybe not the 'right' thing to do, fighting fire with fire. But something must be done to stop them, and punish them.

 

I couldn't agree more. I can understand the initial tactic of containment but the longer this goes on, the more this is becoming not a good look for the concept of the police's ability to maintain law and order in this country. It seems to the majority that the lawless can do what they want without repercussions. I am at the point where I want to see force used. Tear gas. Water cannon. Rubber bullets if necessary. Treat them like the scum they are.

I really fear for where we are heading over the next few years because whilst there absolutely can be no excusing what they morons are doing, and they are criminal morons, there is an undoubtedly a perceived issue with immigration levels in the country that a lot of other people agree with, even if they would never dream of taking to the street in such a disgusting way to express their views about it and even though the issue is much more complex and multi layered than that. And the new government is likely to not address it in any way. Which means people will continue to think no-one is listening to them and will increasingly turn to the right wing mouth pieces as a result. The future doesn't look pretty to me.

This. If you have an image send it to the club and hopefully they'll do the right thing and ban them. I also agree that naming them on here isn't a good idea for a variety of reasons, even if you're certain who it was.

 

They are present but not actually doing anything so wouldn’t sit right snitching.

I'm not sure the club will ban a paying customer for an act they committed that was neither at Oakwell, an away stadium or anywhere football related.

Police is the way to go, let them investigate and prosecute if appropriate.

 

A fine post from a well-respected poster. I think the comments from people on here reflect our society as a whole, the racist thugs are a tiny minority and are heavily outnumbered by decent, compassionate law-abiding people.

I rarely comment on such issues, because I know I won't change the views of bigoted racists, but they won't change mine either. Debate with such scum is an utter waste of time.

The good will of most of us will win in the end, I'm convinced of that. After all, we're all the same species, all equal.

Could be wrong but I believe Liverpool and Everton have stated they will ban S/T holders if they are involved with the Liverpool ‘riots’

 

Ian it's numbers....and staggering incompetence by a previous Chief Constable. Where I live (close to Manvers) under Cameron they closed our modern Police Station and cut Officer numbers to the bone.
We had 4 Officers on a standard shift to cover an area of around 20-30k people They were now based several miles away in an area that suffered notoriously bad traffic flow. If things went t*ts up they could draft in another 4 from out of town.
All the Officers had to sign in (so were late on site) and left early to sign out at the Station several miles away... and received their instructions when in our town via 'Hotbook' (( a glorified laptop )...Hotbooks where notoriously bad for receiving a signal.
Fortunately a new Chief Constable (Stephen Watson) scrapped it all and under Theresa May we got more money, the Police Station reopened and we got double the number of Officers...it seems like a Godsend, but still not enough.

Not comparable I’m afraid, today’s policing in general is far more err PC and nothing like it was in those days, same as at matches.
Scummers of the opinionated of both sides shouldn’t be tolerated , such behaviour is way below the accepted behaviour of any reasonable human being.
