People shouldn't, but some do. And unfortunately he's an influential voice amongst those who are at risk of getting involved with the sort of unrest we're currently seeing.

He's fanning the flames to drive traffic on Twitter. It's as cynical as it is irresponsible.

He's a self made billionaire ahead in his field and one of the richest people in the world, so he's seen as someone to listen to.

It's his views on and his family's complicity in Apartheid that should be of concern when you see him actively engaging with Yaxley tweets and deliberately stoking the divisions in our country.

Make no mistake the guy is a white supremacist

Me too. I nearly spat my coffee out at the words 'self-made'.

He also isn't the 'genius' some people seem to think he is. Incredibly business savvy for sure but all these things like Space X, Tesla and Starling are the works of countless others who get little to no credit for their work.

Well perhaps he should concentrate on his business and not get involved in other nations politics, and stop allowing his teach platform to be used to stir up hatred and riots…

TBF, Bill Gates and Steve Jobs (among others) started on the virtual coalface building and programming computers before moving upwards as their companies expanded. Jeff Bezos started Amazon from his garage selling books. Mark Zuckerberg started Meta while at University. I think all had comfortably middle-class upbringings, but their families certainly weren't billionaire rich.

Looks like he's on the verge of a full on baby rant with our PM. Ignoring people like him dent his fragile ego so much more than anything else.

He certainly wasn't born into poverty but he wasn't born a billionaire either. Its probably fair to say that he was a large part of why Tesla became so successful. People laughed when the first Roadsters were introduced around 2006, but by the time the Model 3 was introduced its fair to say that Tesla had changed the motor industry. I'll give him some credit for that.

However, with the rest now catching up while Tesla still have only 2 volume models, and they appear to be stuck in a vacuum trying to concentrate on robo taxis instead of more models at the cheaper end of the scale, he could very well be just as responsible for their demise into irrelevance.

He is a ruthless capitalist, at the very extremes of what makes the US labour market a shark infested pond. And he does indeed come across as a white supremacist. He might be labelled a genius, but in many respects he is a tool and comes across as not a very nice person.

Many people bought into the Tesla ethos because of him. But now, just as many wouldn't touch Tesla, because of him. Just my opinion, could be wrong, but I think if they want to survive and prosper, I can see him being ousted in a year or two. .

If he was a white supremacist, would one of his key friends be of Indian descent? Just because someone has an opposing view to you doesn’t mean they’re all bad or all good. There’s an in-between, people need to realise that.

What was his tweet? ‘There’s going to be a civil war’ is that inciting violence? Or is that merely making a statement and an observation to what’s happening, because I and others I’ve spoke to about the rioting have come with the same answer - that we believe there could be a civil war on the horizon.

Now I’ll admit, I could be uneducated on what he’s said as I have no social media, this is the closest thing to social media that I have. So if someone can explain what he’s said that’s wrong, or link me, that would be appreciated.

Also, if people are questioning whether he’s a genius or not then go read his book. Insanely smart and driven while being cutthroat to anyone that doesn’t cut it for his ambitious ideas - this is what often gets him his bad name. From what I gather about Elon in his book is that his brain works 20x faster and more efficient that your average person, which leads him to being a bit of an arse because he can’t understand why others brains don’t work like his - but that happens with most genius humans.

You had me worried for a minute there but then I realised you meant Starlink. Glad I didn't have to close my account.

I've been with Twitter 15 years, and I think I've just about done with it now. It's changed beyond all recognition under Dr. Evil. All the people I follow on Twitter seem to be over on Threads, so I think I'll give that a try. Not overly impressed with needing to sign up to Instagram, but hey.

No he isn't. Elon made himself a billionaire. He wasn't born in to that level of wealth.
