…does anyone have any idea how it’s going to work? Is it going to be a streaming service ala the red button now on the Sky Sports Football channel or is it its own separate or new channel? I currently have a BT YouView box and have BT Sports & Sky Sports on subscription but I don’t have access to the red button games… no idea how it’s going to work for me or if I have to pay extra etc. TIA
Sky Sports+ will be available as a linear channel, with some additional matches only accessible via the Red Button or via the Sky Sports homepage on your TV. These additional fixtures will be streamed via a broadband connection with all of the trimmings you'd expect from Sky TV, including the ability to pause and rewind live coverage. That wasn't possible with the additional coverage broadcast via the Red Button on earlier iterations of the Sky Sports channels.
May end up watching quite a few away matches on ifollow from random excursions around the world. . CBS sports in the US have an EFL deal as well from this season. Wonder if we will get any air time on there. Why on earth did we ditch the kit with the white stars and US Mobile sponsor.
Just checked up on this and the channel launches on Thursday and all of the games that have been listed so far are available through the Now TV app for anyone that wasn’t sure.
And also via the Sky Sports App. Good work by Sky and the EFL, I disagree with anyone who says otherwise.
I haven’t got a Now TV app on my telly but a Sky Sports app has appeared in the “New in” section of all the other apps and it has listings of all EFL League 1 games. I have Sky Q and a sports subscription if relevant, so I guess the new channel will be up and running as from 3.50 this afternoon with live tennis from Toronto ( cos that’s what it says ). Of course I could be wrong !!!!
You should be right, I’ve just been telling everyone on the phone that it kicks off Friday 8pm and they best cheer on the team in red
According to this it starts Thursday on channel 412 on Sky Q. https://www.skysports.com/football/...-8-offering-fans-more-choice-at-no-extra-cost
and if you have sky thru virgin and its an old box you have to send off for a new remote and do an update or you cant watch it
It seems to say the channel is upcoming today at 3.50 pm with Potapova v Frech at the National Bank tennis Open. Perhaps they aren’t sure themselves. I’ll post when it’s up and working
I guess a good thing is now is all the games will have 4 cameras in league 1. And maybe four candles or fork handles.
So if you have a BT vision box can you watch or record like the regular sky channels or do you need to launch the NowTV app on the box and watch it as an app - so no chance to record? Anyone know yet
That’s what I have - I think you’ll need a Now TV app on the box from what I’m getting at, the Barnsley - Mansfield game is listed as a streaming service so don’t think there’ll be a chance to record.
It says live tennis is available but flashes on that there is a temp fault. Teething set up problems. It does say that pause and rewind will be available …. eventually
So if we're on TV on Friday night, and there was this big to-do about Paramount+ / CBS Sports showing the games over here, where are we:
