In one way I feel very sad for these people. Yes they are moronic, yes they deserve harsh punishment and yes they're misled and misinformed but at the end of the day isn't it really sad and dispiriting that all that they seem to have is hate? There's no positivity there, just hatred. What a terrible indictment of people who live in a modern society and have had access to free education. Really sad that they turn out like they do. I wonder what a lot of them are like behind closed doors with their spouses when they have so much anger...

I agree but really not the cleverest of things to do by the police officer.
Funny yes but had the moron split his head and ended up in a coma. Well it’s game on for the thugs and the officer would be suspended like the officer who booted that guy in the head at Manchester airport.
Must be difficult to keep cool but they are meant to be trained to deal with these things.

 

I wonder though... Does it actually descend as far as hate for a good number (not that I have a shred of pity)? I suspect sheer ignorance, irrational fear and perhaps excessive influence from close family or their circles of influence. There will be those that have crystallised their feelings into hate, but given the level of very young people involved, I'm not sure they have enough time in their lives to have processed thoughts to hate.

That maybe makes it all the more tragic. Yet those that have pedalled hate for decades seem untouched and able to manage their daily print runs regardless.

 

The problem is that a lot of these people were the ones who didn't try at school - probably stopped going around 13-14 and were encouraged not to by their parents who were just the same. Now they are left with no qualifications, a criminal record and no hope of improving things and its easier to blame immigrants than it is to look in the mirror and blame yourself and your parents for being in that position.

I was at school with at least 10 people like this - and I bet it was the same in every school and every year.

He hardly touched him - anyone is in their right to create space if someone gets up in your grill. I have zero sympathy for anyone goading the cops in the middle of a riot.

 

This tier of society could always get a job down the mines and earn a decent living but Thatcher took that option away. I know lots of intelligent miners but there were definitely some dipsticks worked down there. Just ask an ex miner some of the stories, they're hilarious. What option of work do these uneducated people have now? There's next to no manufacturing industry and those that are left seem to keep their workers until they retire. What used to be called "blue collar" jobs are few and far between. Not sure what the answer is but blaming immigrants in a town like Barnsley is just plain stupid

You need at least a "5" ("C" in old money) in maths and English to get any kind of apprenticeship in a trade and/or go to building college. I'm guessing most of the brain donors rioting can't even spell the word "five" never mind get one in GCSE English.

 

Now they've cut back on the armed services there must be spare accommodation in 'Colchester' the Army prison. Squaddies exiting after a spell in Colchester seldom re-offend.
