3-0 to the red and red and red army. Can't wait for the mad scramble for the 1,800 or so allocation we will get for the promotion push return fixture in March.
Our continuing defensive frailties (as seen in friendly victory over Derby) will be very much in evidence. 2.4 will be the result, Connell and Cosgrove our scorers
Think we lost last time home to stags like 2003 0-1. And won 0-1 at field mill the tin man brian o callaghan scored. Went to both . My bro in law is a Stag and going to game. I watch stags 3 or 4 times a season. So soft spot for them but hope we win
4-2 Barnsley. Think it'll be an open game and I actually think we'll not find scoring a problem. Watters can finish given the right service and Cosgrove is extremely awkward to play against. Can see the defence looking frail while it takes time to gel, although longer term I think Pines and Robbo will be an excellent pairing.
Never predicted a correct score at all last season so i'm hoping my predictions will improve this season 5 - nowt, C,O,Y,R.
If we do better than a draw I will be impressed. Not sure where the goals will come from. Not convinced by our keepers. Mansfield top scorers last season and best defence in league 2. Tough league this season. We need to bring in some goals.
A new season and the first game is always difficult to predict. I think Mansfield will be tough opponents and it will be a competative game however I think our better quality should deliver a first home win of the season. 3-1 home win. Barnsley to win and both teams to score is currently 3/1 with Bet365 and that's where my £10 bet has gone.
2-1. Two early goals following by Mansfield pulling one back just after half time and hanging on for the last 30 minutes. Cosgrove and Conor
3-2 Barnsley. Think we witnessed v Derby even though just a friendly that we are capable of creating chances and scoring. Defence still a worry when it comes to pace especially Earl.
