What would we consider to be a "reasonable" loss?

Didn't we beat them at their place in our last game last season?

Depends on different owners outlook on a club by club basis, we have been having to pump £5m in to stand still, Darragh McAnonthy at Peterborough is pitting in similar amounts to bridge the gap, other clubs are willing to speculate much more, the risk is its a gamble for sure, but if they are happy doing so and propping up the loses then fair play, Bolton aren't exclusively the only club prepared to spend at a loss.
People will say its a risk etc which there's no denying but in the case of Ipswich it's paid off big time.

Apart from one or two exceptions Radio Two is now just a giggly, let's just have a laugh station aimed at people a lot younger than I am now. I never listen live any more, choosing to hear the likes of Sounds of the Sixties with Tony Blackburn on the BBC Sounds app some time after he broadcasts early Saturday morning. I think it all ended for me when they sacked Steve Wright and replaced him with that imbecile Scott Mills in the afternoons. In the morning I didn't much care for Ken Bruce but his successors have been a total downgrade on quality.

The early morning show has never been the same since Wogan retired. I suppose it's all part of getting older. I had my tranny in my pocket with the single ear phone plugged in doing the paper round in the 1960s and was thrilled to hear Blackburn open up Radio One with Flowers in the Rain. These days that station is well off limits for me :). If I listen to any live music radio it's Boom on the iPhone. Some very decent presenters on there who prioritise playing good music over inane chat.

Doesn't really worry me too much if he ends up at Wrexham to be honest.

If he ended up at Bolton then it would be a different story as him and Collins behind Dion Charles is a very very strong front 3.

Wrexham will be top half most likely but far from a top 6 side at the moment. Unless they add a few more of the level of McAtee before the end of the window.

We once beat Manchester City at their place but we're probably just a tad behind them as well.

The point I was making, probably very poorly, is we have fallen behind the majority of the 92 Clubs in the league in terms of our standing, competency at running a football club - on and off the field - and most importantly for me, our desire to do anything about it. Here we are languishing in the 3rd tier of English football and hoping, rather than expecting, we might get lucky again (for a season) and get out of it. I just expect better from my club.

Sorry mate but how much information do you have on every other club in the leagues? How can you actually say with that with confidence? Who do we think we are to 'expect' anything? Very Wednesday-esque.
Guarantee you there would be plenty of clubs who would love to be in our position

Yeah, fair point and i wasn't about to die in a ditch over the issue.

I was just looking at the sides in Tier 3 in terms of 'ins and out's this Summer and the optimism or other wise coming from their support at the start of the season. On that basis, I'd got us about 15/16th in terms of progress over the Summer and a desire/likelihood of getting out of this League (in the right direction) at the end of the season. Now that analysis might be right, wrong or indifferent, but I contrast where I think we are now as a Club, and how much optimism I have for the coming season, with how I've felt in the previous 50 seasons following the Reds. It's not the worst I've felt but it's pretty near the bottom.

Don't get me wrong, I'll be there cheering us on tomorrow night with hope in my heart, but that's all it is - hope. I'd like to feel a bit more expectation.

Still nothing concrete with Mcatee going to Bolton or Wrexham.
Imagine if…if our board have done something amazing and gone under the radar to sign John Mcatee permanently

Not sure what is happening (if anything) with DKD, seems to be dragging

Yeah I do understand where you are coming from mate, I truly think a large portion of that is due to fractured relationship between the club and fans over this past year though. My 'expectations' were to finish in play offs, both seasons, and we managed that, we were deeply unlucky the first time around (despite still thinking Duff made some very bad calls for that game) & the second time we almost overcame Bolton in the second leg. However, last season I think is the reason a lot of fans are begrudged, so to speak, is due to the poor footbal and home form especially - even though we made history with away results. I honestly think with the signings we've made, despite still needing some more, with a decent start and some nice football, the feeling with completely change. I hope so anyway mate

We have sent him in as a plant to derail Boltons season. Just like when we sent agent Wilson to Sheffield Wednesday.
