I don't want to be critical of the fab thing because the idea of it is brilliant but am I the only one thinking it could be hugely ineffective having fab board members to 'represent' different groups rather than having members responsible for different areas and issues? What I mean by that is for example my mate is a woman (I know, you're shocked). She's a season ticket holder from somewhere near hull who also goes to away games. Does she contact the season ticket holder representative? The women and girls representative? The distant fans representative? Or the fans who go to away games representative? If her issue is for example about the catering at oakwell then absolutely none of those representatives really cover that issue, or all of them do (except the away fan one). Wouldn't it be wiser to have a board member responsible for issues relating to season tickets, for the matchday experience, for women's issues, for away match issues, for issues relating to people unable to attend etc? That way it's clear who you need to contact with an issue and who is actually responsible for what. As I said, I'm not trying to be critical of the idea l, i think its brilliant, its just that ive got a couple of things i wouldn't mind asking the fab group to look at and ive no idea which one is relevant so thought it was worth making this suggestion or pointing out a potential issue.
Hi ST I'm on the FAB. FYI, more details re FAB Members will be released shortly on the Club site. Thanks for the comments. This thing is very much in its early early days. Still forming, so to speak. It's encouraging to hear that you think it's a good idea. With reference to your specific points, we don"t want to make things confusing or complicated so if you message me on here with the couple of things you have referenced I'd be happy to try and help. Cheers
Cheers, I'll message you at some point over the weekend just in case any of the things I'd like to raise have changed for the new season anyway (though not all can have so I'll still message you). I do really think it's a brilliant idea. What I quite like is that people are named so there's no secret society accusations, there are a lot of you so it isn't just like the SLOs who didn't seem to be much use (that's the idea of SLOs not the individuals who did it) and that because it's quite formal you actually have a bit of power to push for things if necessary. In other words it's all the previous fan engagement things improved significantly.
