He's just got back from the Olympics where he was an unused sub for USA in all of their matches. Chelsea paid £8m for him. I just can't see this one to be honest, though someone on their forum has said they're trying to offload at least 17 players before the end of the window.
I think it is more than that, are they are signing another this week! The latest one is costing like 20 million from Genk and will be staying there on loan this season.
Yeah I was reading something similar. I think 5 of them have played full international too. I honestly don't get the point of them having some of the players they have; I mean, why is 32 year old Marcus Bettinelli on their books? He's played for them once in 3 years, not been out on loan and still has a contract until 2026.
They keep him because he counts as one of the home grown players required to meet Premier League homegrown player rules. Same reason why City keep Carson, Man U got Heaton back etc.
Oh Chelsea are a basket case for sure. Can't stand how they do business, hoarding all these players season after season. But Bettinelli is usually kept as 3rd or 4th choice there for the reasons I mentioned. They tend to loan the others out most seasons.
Err maybe, officially not but maybe. There supposed to be done with permission first. Anyway I was making reference to Bolton spending a lot of money.
Keeper announcement close (according to Nixon) He is saying it is the Chelsea one he reported on (Slonina)
Was doing an MLS save on a game a few years ago and signed this keeper. Turned into in an amazing player. I think I would be happier with this than Bergstrom.
Much better than Bergstrom. Had a good loan in top flight of Belgium last season. Yes the team he was at did finish bottom but not because of him. His underlying stats were impressive and a lot of sides in that league are a lot better than L1 level
