Clarke got the starting 11 wrong, surely a blind man can see what we’re lacking as a team.Weve had pre season to sort it.Some positives but you can’t give teams a two goal start at any level.
I was disheartened for the first 25 mins But the way we turned it round was encouraging or would have been if we had been able to convert any of our many chances into goals Need to see where we are at the end of August. If our strike force is still Cosgrove Watters and Marsh then I will be disheartened
Completely agree. If we get a couple of decent laikers up top we have nothing to fear imo. Smith needs to replace Killip though, until the new keeper signs if we do sign one. We had plenty of chances but just couldn't finish...
A couple of strikers and we'll be fine. That was the only area that looked utterly dross today. Whole team looked poor before the formation change but after that we were the better side. Just had no goal threat up top
I feel sorry for Gent. He's not the best player we've ever signed. To be taken off tactically after 25 mins suggests we might have a rebuild job here. (Mentally). That said I've been crying out for a head coach with some b o llocks.
I don’t think it’s the last time you will see him make early subs mate. I think he does it a fair bit
Aye me dads just told me - serves me right for replying to notifications without checking board first
It was quite obvious it was tactical and no slight on Gent. Clarke needed to re-balance the team and it worked. Just unfortuntate for the lad making his debut.
One little question - was it the strikers faults that we let a very average team cut us open several times in the first 20 minutes and were lucky that we only conceded 2 goals?
Pertinent question. That's why I absolve Clarke of blame tonight. Went with our best 11 (on paper) and changed it when we were over run.
Based on what I've seen tonight if we play Cosgrove as a loan striker and pack the midfield we'll be up there. How we play we're too open with two up top.
Why wasn't Smith playing then tonight, surely he was signed to play ahead of Killip ?. As for the awful missed chances, we can't even blame them on the away keeper playing a blinder this time. Which has happened so many times over the years. And it reminds me of the Horsham cup game almost, where we created/missed enough chances to have won 3 games that night!.
No idea mate. Was very disappointed with Clarke that Killip started - i said pre match we have to trust him but I fear he got that call completely wrong. And I agree with you on that as well, their keeper didn't have all too much to do. But the quality of chance we had was decent enough to score more than 1 for certain so it makes it even more obvious we are severely lacking attacking options and board must rectify this otherwise in my opinion, they've failed already
