Well a bit rusty but an entertaining enough game.

Connell for looking the least rusty.

Toss up between Russell and Connell. Went for Luca in the end

It has to be Connell 100%. Thought Russell did well, seemingly further forward thankfully cos on the ball he's very decent. Still a couple of dodgy defensive runs but overall a very good performance and hopefully a turning point long term in his form. Thought Mael played a lot better after formation change too and Lofthouse was excellent in his cameo. But Connell by a mile and Russell taking second spot for me!

I went for Russell. The sub changed the game. It would have been Connell but his shooting in the second half was woeful.

Love Luca. Never really rated Russell.

Jon changed the game tonight though. Connell a close second.

Shout for Matty Craig too. We looked awful after he went off.

Gone for Robbo, looked solid. Hope he can marshal the defence this year. We need a commanding prescence at the back. Early days but good to see him back.

Connell a distant winner, with a notable mention to Roberts for me. Russell was neat and tidy on the ball, but I think it was more the change in shape rather than his introduction that turned the tide of the game. I still thought he looked for every opportunity to play a backwards pass, though he was more positive in his play than he has been in the past.

Far be it from me to engage in pedantry, but if he looked for every opportunity to play a backwards pass, how can that be more positive than he has been in the past?
Surely it can only be equally as negative as it is possible to be?

    Sorry!

Connell, with Russell a close second, Craig 3rd and Robbo 4th. The second half subs really disrupted our momentum, although I thought they were the correct calls at the time.

Although it pains me to say it, is Hourihane finished as a player?

None of them worth a vote imo. Barely any of them performed the basics at a level that was worthy of being considered competent for large portions of the match.

Thanks for doing the sticky & for the bump, Jimmy.
With me taking a 1-2 day break from BBS, the sticky was great but then I was a bit concerned that others could miss the vote ....until your bump :)
So for me, I think this has worked perfectly but we'll see how it stands the test of time.
I don't normally comment on my vote, but seeing as I'm posting ...

Went for Russell for his consistency (at a good level) since his introduction.
I get why Connell has won the vote, but felt his first half performance combined with his off-target shooting wasn't enough. Nonetheless, he's captain fantastic & a worthy winner.
