That doesn't make any sense to me. Specifically the "He hasn’t been a problem for me". Styles is paid handsomely to play football for Barnsley FC. If Clarke didn't feel he could play Styles because of his mindset then I'd consider that quite a big problem.
Course we do but he needs to learn a harsh lesson that he’s nowhere near as good as his ego thinks he is!
I agree. I just don't think Clarke wants to hang him out to dry in public, which is fair enough. Especially if we're trying to persuade another club to take him off our hands.

I think Styles hasn't been a happy bunny since we made him sign a new contract prior to Millwall. The fact is he's had two kicks three if you include us at championship football and not taken any is by the by to him,take the cash and get him gone.
Once Gent is up to speed I don't think Styles would make our starting 11 anyway. Probably best for him as being on the bench in league 1 isn't a good look for the Bury Baggio International star.
Might well be on a significant appearance fee as well that we don’t want to pay if he’s not going to give 100%
We don't know what's gone on or what the situation is. What we do know is Styles' position at Oakwell is now untenable. If I'm the buying club I'm more inclined to wait til January or next year and certainly wouldn't be interested in increasing a transfer fee. That only hurts our finances. Not a wise move when we're in such a weak financial position.
Not so sure personally. His and his agents actions will be doing the damage, regardless of what Clarke says in an interview. Every other Club will already know the situation. In fact they'll know far more than we do.
Well we apparently turned down an offer from West Brom this week. Rumoured to be £600k too. Bonkers if that’s true. I’d have snapped their hand off to get shut.
I must admit I was surprised he wasn't playing and I suppose they could have said he tripped over his cat and injured his left testicle but I'd rather know that this lad chooses not to play for us. I believe the lad is forcing a move which in turn is lowering the sale cost. Get him gone as he is causing more harm to our team than good. He took up a place in the friendly games at others expense for his own fitness gain to help his move not preparation for our upcoming league games. In turn against Mansfield the LWB position is where we struggled as it was too soon for Gent. He needed calling out IMO. Well done Clarke get shut ASAP.

Just wondering if our board turned down the alleged £600k as it was paid in tiny amounts at intervals....and we wanted more up front. I would have took £600k btw but it needs to be right
Why should Clarke have to lie for him? He had the opportunity for a clean slate, all he had to do was show up and play well and he could have put himself in a much better position in pretty much every way. Again, he’s made a choice that’s beginning to defy belief.
In my opinion, I'm guessing he was in the starting 11 ,as Clarke would have a good idea on Wednesday who was starting. Maybe the head coach was pissed off his plans were pulled from under his nose prior to kick off ,who knows could have been the board that called it.
But that’s supposition. We don’t know any of that is the case. He could well have been keen to play, he may well have been prepared to knuckle down. The only clear thing is the fan comments have intensified in typical fashion that Styles isn’t welcome. Not the best position to be in while he’s still contracted to us.
