Sign DKD and I'd have him back for one season in a heartbeat.

Barely anyone rated Norwood until he left. Now our fan base makes out he was peak Ronaldo.

Average league 1 striker over a year ago. Obviously we need strikers, but it's hilarious that our fans go on about the board lacking ambition, and then clamour for a 33 year old non league striker.

What we miss is his nous as a forward player. Not saying I’d have him back now but someone of his ilk wouldn’t go amiss.
I think the modern term for what we miss is his s***housery.

We’d have won that game last night with him in the team imo. Or at least the version that left - no idea if he’s still got his legs at this point.

Shithousery, running down the defenders, and the ability to hit a cows arse with a banjo.

We don’t need a worldie. Some competence would do.

Watters I’m convinced will come good at some point. The more he fails the more likely it will be at another club though.

Exactly what you say. A good experienced lower league striker would be an upgrade on what we have now.
Much as I dislike the bloke, even Lee Gregory would’ve done a job for us.

Watters last night in front of goal was synonymous with someone devoid of confidence.
But, unlike last season his head didn't drop. And boy he is rapid.

I didn't mind him, and certainly I think we would benefit from someone of his ilk.

But even he had games, like Watters and Cosgrove, where he was completely ineffectual. Or games where we won in spite of him, rather than because of him, and it's often forgotten because he had a good final month of that season, where he could do little wrong. For every Wednesday game, there was a Lincoln game where he got sent off early doors, or a few other occasions where he'd be anonymous for an hour, then get the hook.

We certainly need someone, but I don't get all the misty-eyedness over Norwood.

If those chances had dropped to Cosgrove, or DKD, we'd have won comfortably last night I reckon.

Cosgrove did plenty of running yesterday, and his link up play was solid. Even late into the game he helped clear a corner and was involved in the counter attack. He was unfairly penalised a couple of times. I don't think there was any lack of effort or gamesmanship that would have made a difference, he just wasn't clinical enough with his shooting, and Norwood wasn't exactly prolific.

Just had a look at Oldham’s lineup today. Norwood not on the list. Injured or moved on? Or maybe he’s at Oakwell discussing terms…..

Cosgrove missed the easiest chance of the night.

In fairness Cosgrove missed the easiest chance all night. Skied it from six or seven yards.

Billy Sharp is still putting the ball in the back of the net at 38 years old

..which makes you wonder why Hourihane at 33 can't be a starter.

Not that he made any difference last night.

    He did make a difference.

Him coming on for Craig made us markedly worse.

We all love Conor - and I’m sure his sharpness will improve - but let’s not pretend he wasn’t poor last night. Gave the ball away more in 20 mins or so than he seemed to in his whole first spell.
