For those of a gaming persuasion... This excellent game has released this month and feels very much like a love letter to Tarn, its dialect and its humour. Voiced in part by Matt Berry, and made by Yorkshire studio Coal Supper - I highly recommend.
Really wanted to play this but not available for Xbox which is my main gaming platform. Yet it's available for everything else, what gives?
I was just thinking yesterday that we should have another gaming thread in here. I'm waiting for the Xbox version too, but yeah, this looks interesting. I suppose that it'd run perfectly on my old PC as well, but I've become a lazy Xbox gamer in recent years...
Not a clue , but was never massively bothered about arcade games when I was younger. Grown men playing computer games is definitely strange.
Great games, but if I remember correctly, there are some achievements that would have required way too much effort! Mafia 1 is still one of my all-time favourites, and the remake from a couple of years ago is a prime example of a fantastic remake.
Yeah it was a fishing trip, with his ridiculous comment. Video games are still big business, and they are still made for people of all ages. As for Mafia 2, I thought the original (when it was on the Ps3) was ace at first. But one of the achievements/trophies is to travel 1,000 miles in vehicles, and takes frikkin years to do!.
I played through Mafia 3 a couple of years ago on PS4. Great game, and great soundtrack too. Not played the first 2. Not turned the console on for a good 18 months, might have to dust it off, not even been unpacked since we moved in February.
I wouldn't take his comment too seriously. I've noticed that a lot of people are sort of old-fashioned when it comes to games - their idea of a video game is stuck in the 1980's. Every now and then I have this same conversation with one of my colleagues, and he (half-jokingly) always says that "video games are for kids only", but at the same time he likes to watch the latest Marvel superhero movies and whatever. For me, games are a great way to relax, and nowadays I'd much rather play a good game with a good story than watch a movie or something on the tv.
I agree, but a lot of people (me included, I guess) consider Mafia 3 to be the worst of the trilogy. Don't bother with the original Mafia 1 - it's ancient and not very player-friendly by modern standards - but you may want to give the remake from 2020 a try. It's much more straightforward than Mafia 3, but the pacing of the story (and the story itself) is much better, and I found the action bits more enjoyable too. Can't beat the Mafia 3 soundtrack though!
Yeah and I get a lot of 'pegi 18' games, like 18 rated films as well (not movies lol). The more violent they are, the better!. Other game I like are the Hitman, and Dead island, and Sniper elite/ghost warrior, and Splinter cell, and Resident evil games.
OK boomer. When you think about it, shouting at a load of men kicking a ball around is a lot stranger concept than interactive media.
World we live in is getting more and more remote. There's some excellent YouTube videos by Jimmy Carr about it.
Has anyone played Dave the Diver yet? If not then you should, seriously! This game looks good though, on my to play list for sure!
I'll have a look how much it is on Steam tomorrow. I'm currently playing through all the old Command and Conquer games......
