The referee stopped Dorking Wanderers vs Truro City after four minutes because of this kit clash.

Dorking were forced to turn their shirts inside out for the rest of the match!

I was going to say, surely Dorking were aware that Truro played in red before making the journey down, but given Truro have changed their kit colour from white to red for this season, and they were in different divisions last year, maybe they didn't.

That doesn’t really matter as they are at opposite ends of the pitch. I remember when green was the only colour keepers wore, save for a couple of exceptions. The ref should never have started this game though, those 2 kits were too similar and was always going to clash.

Once had to turn tops inside out when playing for supporters club. Donated opposing team a couple of players once or twice when they were short too. :)

I can’t remember which game but there was one on the ITV highlights with one team in red shirts and the ref ALSO in red. Didn’t he bring a spare yellow one or something?

Ref should have made one team play skins like they did us at school!

    2 things....

    1) Why was the home team made to wear it inside? You would think it would be the visitors.

    2) I wonder what the sponsors thought. Maybe a refund on their deal considering nobody could see what they had paid for.

Did you know that they were sponsored by Stonegate Homes until the publicity of this story?
    I didn’t, but I do now.

    Dorking were the visitors

I’m surprised they didn’t wear Truro’s away shirts, however in the age of names on shirts I can see why they wouldn’t

hex.com were the sponsor last year… they quietly dropped off without much fanfare at all in the summer

Ah that’s what Sheff We’d should do if someone turns up in a fake kit.

That was also Truro's first game in Cornwall for several seasons. Theyve just got a new ground built as part of a housing and sports development in truro.
