Very sorry to hear this. As others have commented, he was a real hard man, but, no doubt, a great bloke off the pitch.
Waa one of my favourites too! No opposition player was safe when he waa on the pitch. Very sad news to wake up to. :-(
In our promotion season of 79.. under Clarke he was banned for six games, too many bookings.. and still made the league 4 team of the season.. RIP Al..
Sad news. RIP "Animal". Remember him well. I saw Ali Millar commented on a FB post. Happy times watching those players back in the day.
Whitey isn't there anymore -may even be the person now updating the clubs website and social media doesn't even know, I only found out by reading the thread on here
Sad news. Most of it has been said. Without a doubt the hardest tackler I've ever seen. But never dirty imo. No such thing as a 50/50 with Little. 99/1 in his favour. Bremner, Smith and Hockey couldn't hold a candle to him in that respect. RIP sir. Always a favourite of the fans.
My first favourite player. Me and my big sister (who was in love with Glyn Riley) went and doorstepped Alan Little with club photos and badges to be signed. I was terrified, but not for long, as the man himself opened the door with a smile and could not have been more obliging. It was the best thing that had ever happened to me and something I will never forget. As lovely a bloke off the pitch as he was ferocious on it. RIP Animal.
Still no acknowledgment on club website about Alan Little’s passing. What happened to once a Red always a Red? Not good enough…..
There's only a part time ex Leeds fan and aYTS kid left at the club. Sadly neither will understand Mr Little's significance. As his other clubs have. I've twitter bombed the club as I think this is reprehensible
There are clubs five divisions below us whose comms are better than ours. Whoever at the club is responsible for this - and I don't mean the poor buggers at the coal face - should look themselves in the mirror, hang their heads in shame, then quietly shut the door on their way out. Yet another disgraceful failure that simply SHOULD NOT HAPPEN at a business of this stature.
