Let's see how they get on first as nobody expected a newly promoted team to do owt away at a side challenging for promotion.
Newly promoted I'm sure they were in the championship last season but to fair they were playing a team who's march on Europe has begun.
How foolish were the Plymouth hierarchy for appointing Rooney?! They must be odds on to go down and by the time they dismiss him it will be too late. Rooney's managerial career will likely be finished after this stint at Plymouth.
Yeah but he did play about 50 or 60 more games than Shearer/Greaves/Lineker. Absolute dogger in tournaments.
Let's be honest though, if he wasnt Wayne Rooney he wouldn't have been offered such big gigs so early on, just like Lampard and Gerrard, so it's not as though he's got an hard job and worked his way up. And unfortunately, whilst I'm in your camp regarding fair play to him for giving it another go, it will undoubtedly tarnish his career. It already has to a certain point, and as more young uns grow up who barely saw him, they'll only know him for being a failed manager. I hope he does go into punditry or coaching instead of management
I don't care whether its against Sheff Wensdy or whoever. But its already looking like Plymouth and Rooney, have got a hard season ahead of them.
Just to point out to a couple of posters in this thread, Plymouth were in the championship last season too. As for Rooney, he's clearly not got it as a manager. Someone suggested he go into punditry, he's shíté at that too. Wish he'd just go be a family man and enjoy his millions.
It could have been a wind-up, but I'm sure I heard Johnny Vaughan say that while he was at Derby, Rooney applied to university to study law. That might be better for all concerned.
