Played against likes of sporting and porto last season. Rated 72 on fifa Whats not to like? I actually have a good feeling about this player. I dont think he will play at this level long but welcome kelechi! Ignore our social media fans then thal be reyt
He looks an excellent player and so the signing enthuses me - but I do worry that we have a limited budget and that we won’t have sufficient coffers to strengthen in the area we clearly need to. We have no forwards that can score - so we can’t lose Phillips. This lad clearly isn’t a like for like for him. You wonder if (and suspect) we will be cashing in on one or two in the window.
That's definitely one that crept under the radar- hope their is a lot more work going on in the background COYR
If he's any other kind of midfielder other than this then we're overloaded to our detriment. But if he is this then he's exactly what we need.
Posters are saying that was a shot out of the blue, no rumors, maybe it is because he has come from Europe, I think we might be looking at 1 or maybe 2 forwards from abroad.
Interesting signing. The 4-4-2 was obviously trained so perhaps we'll be seeing more of that formation, and maybe Hourihane won't be playing much. People complained about strength of the bench last season, and with 5 subs having decent depth is vital. I wouldn't be surprised if we offload Benson, even just on loan, but I have to say extending Wolfe seems like an odd decision, especially when there are youngsters like Yonganathan and Chapman who are now even further from game time.
I imagine that's still the priority. But it's not as though we're not going to strengthen other areas until we've completed deals for strikers. Darrell Clarke's said more than once that it's the hardest area on the pitch to recruit into.
With the club publicly saying we're in for a couple of strikers, I reckon the budget must be there for those and this lad. It would seem a strange move to say on Friday that we're getting closer to a couple of forwards, then the next two signings be a goalkeeper and a deep-lying playmaker if that's as far as the budget stretches. Unless of course there's a midfielder or 2 on their way out. Styles being the obvious one.
Can’t see us managing to offload Benson anywhere. Can’t see many clubs taking a permanently injured player.
Left previous club under a bit of cloud by all accounts. Turned up 10 days late and club didn’t believe his reasons so said as far they were concerned his contract was cancelled, he responded with he wouldn’t play for them as they tried to stop him going to International game. Two sides to every story, hopefully nothing in it.
