He reported an ex manager for talking to another club while negotiating a new deal at Barnsley.There was another member of staff too who also reported said manager but his side is never mentioned for some reason.
The dirty rat. As an aside. Apparently the Pearce deal from Leeds fell through because Tonge knew he was going to be replaced and blabbed transfer targets on a golfing trip in Cornwall. Are we sure it was Murray and not Tonge that was the mole?
Bang on, other than he never spoke to another club. He went for dinner with winkler. (former assistant manager who left for hudds) Murray claimed he went off for talks with the Huddersfield hierarchy which just never happened. A complete lie. Fabricated a lie as he was on a promise for the managers job. Only when he did the dirty work to get it did he realise he was also lied to and wouldn’t be getting anywhere near the managers job.
What I find odd about the Stendel thing is that we were under con way at the time which had threatened legal action against half of Scotland, the EFL, fa, and pretty much everyone in football for the slightest thing he perceived they'd done wrong yet when it came to Stendel and he apparently had proof of tapping up he never bothered to report it to the fa.
Because anyone else in that situation was a pawn being played by the then owners. Conway split the club in two, those who were and those who weren’t. My biggest problem with Murray was how two faced he was, he’d be calling them up basically baiting them to say negative things about the owners and then running back and telling the tale. He was out of order.
