The rioters are pleading guilty in a magistrates court and are therefore sentenced immediately, murder is a capital crime and must therefore be tried in a crown court, very much more complicated and there are many more magistrates courts than there are crown courts.
Preparing a murder case and a jury trial takes time to secure a conviction. Most of these are open and shut cases.
This i know but when they have caught the murderer red handed, and got proof and evidence why can't they deal with it the same way , surely that takes us back to the 2 tier stuff or maybe 10 tier knowing our country
No it doesn't take us back to the "2 tier stuff". "2 tier" is a phrase used to criticise the same offences being dealt with in different ways depending on the defendant. Trying different offences in different ways is not "2 tier." It's absolutely appropriate and necessary to try different offences in different ways depending on the seriousness and complexity of the offence.
If you really don't understand something it's best not to comment. Nevermind trying to be clever. It's essentially like walking into any room and saying "I think those far right thugs who attacked the police, while being extremely racist, are being treated unfairly!" Now most people think you're a far right loon parroting Tommy 10 names. Not a great look.
Sorry i am not that thick it is a figure of speech the country is going tits up and my thinking of 2 tier is not just the policing but when things are clear cut why can't we have the same kind of speed in justice. I am bloody 74 and never have seen such a split society , mainly caused by the media , closely followed by politicians of all parties
Sorry but you talk stupid, everyone has a right to an opinion, but because i dont agree with yours , i am a loon
Because they want to clamp down on anyone else thinking of doing this by sending a message that you'll be sentenced in no time. Rightly or wrongly the justice system works quickly when they deem in important enough to do so.
