We've created stacks of chances in the first two games and only scored a flukey deflection and Pines header in open play.We don't want to be five games in with only a handful of points. The board need to spend a moderate amount of brass on a striker now and not in two weeks time!.
I never thought I’d be living in a world where Little old Bournemouth would be paying over £40 mill for a player…..unbelievable on 11,000 crowds
One week to close of window. I think it's worth the wait if we can get the right player in. But as always, it doesnt mean to say they'll set the world on fire. Players that succeed at other clubs sometimes fail miserably and vice versa.
Unfortunately there’s an inevitability that this striker chase is going to go to deadline day which will cost us points in the games leading up to it which is frustrating
Agreed,we can't be waiting around. They are going to have to spend some brass and get a quality striker for this level asap.
I'm sure we will sign one striker, probably two or one that can play wide too. I think if we can get those signings made to a good quality, we've not had a bad window. The question will be who do they offload to balance the squad or what happens if a good bid comes in for Connell or Phillips.
Even if it goes to deadline day it’s incredibly unfair to blame the club, they couldn’t have envisaged needing to replace both devante and mcatee this time last year and are having to scramble around as quickly as they can to find a good replacement and credit to them honestly. If I was a striker wanting to get my career either on track or back on track I’d think we were a pretty attractive prospect, almost certainly going to play in every game and heaps of players that can set you up nicely if you know how to score.
They should absolutely have envisaged it. Cole was coming to end of contract and Mcatee was on loan. Stupidity not to envisage it.
I did wonder if he was being sarcy there, to be honest. But if they/the owners think they can play that game though, and claim they didn't see this situation coming a mile off...
