Surely Nwakali should be on the bench, mate? Okeefe can play both sides, so Cotter should be replaced by him perhaps? Though I think Cotter has been much better than Okeefe. I wouldn't play this formation to begin with, but if we were, I'd genuinely start Lopata in place of Earl, despite him being right footed, just because I think Earl's been really poor for a long time now. Lopata impressed me.

I really don't see why Hourihane shouldn't be starting. He's a class above, if Stephen bloody Quinn can handle League 1 in centre mid at 38 I'm sure Conor can at 33.

I thought Lopata looked strong against Wigan, he is not left sided or i would agree with replacing Earl.

Wouldn't bother me mate. Pines can do the running into midfield for me haha. MDG and Lopata over Earl all day for me. MDG will rediscover his form and will be a fantastic player for us.

I've been saying this as well Frog.
I think De Geveigny has had his time to get better, but if anything, he looks worse than ever actually.
And whether we should give Hourihane the first 30+ minutes, or the last 30+ minutes, that remains to be seen which option would suit him.

Hourihane should play but the 4 i picked all deserve a game together as they are looking strong and could do with starting a match together.
Hourihane is a great replacement but looks happy giving the others a go ahead of himself.

Yep I think he deserves a chance mate. As an out and out defender, being right footed won't harm him that much. It's only when running into midfield or going on the overlap where his preference comes into play. I think MDG will refind his form, his best games for us where he won about 6 man of the matches in a row, was always in the middle of the back 3. That obviously changed when Pines came in and went into the middle for a short time, and MDG hasn't really been the same since. His stinkiest games have been on the right of the back 3, I assume because he's trying to be more adventurous, that disastrous debut he had for us, he was playing on the right of the back 3. But I honestly do think he's a good player with great potential, I just wish he was a little faster but I do think we will miss him when he eventually joins Luton:):D

I believe he's more keen on the coaching now and values that over playing... so I don't think we'll see an awful lot of him unless we get injuries and/or he needs to be out there because we're struggling.

Plenty of subs to bring on to change formation but both games so far we've looked all over at the back in 1st 20 mins. let's try what looked like a solid formation to kick off with.Pines, Cotter and Watters all have pace so the break is always on..

Cotter was probably our best player the other night (huff over the top apart) so he should play.. but I do like the look of Lofthouse even out of position.. he could get the nod over Ghent for me..

Nwakali hasn't got a visa yet and isn't fit.

Surely that’s dictating the game rather than chasing it? Get him started

    for me I would say

    Slonina

    Cotter Pines Robbo Earl Gent

    Phillips Craig Connell

    Cosgrove Watters

MDG is too hot and cold for me and a bit erratic, I thought he was decent vs Mansfield but then had a shocker at Wigan

Phillips on his own up front. No point playing any of the others.
