Could a Styles transfer fund the Mansfield lad Did Birmingham offer 600k for Styles but we,ll take 750k Decent business if it happens
https://www.stagsnet.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=42966&start=500#page-body Look at what the poster Ralphy said. Even if Mansfield was paying Dunn nothing as a wage, we wouldn't be giving someone at this level 9k a week. So let's say DKD is on 4k a week, there is even less chance we'd be offering him 13k. Even the 900k transfer fee is too much.
Local press says he’s on 2.5 a week currently with Flint as the highest earner at 4.5k a week so would imagine most they would offer is on par with Flint. Like you say unlikely those figures, you’d think at a push 6k.
All just random rumours. I think we will sign him early next week, for an undisclosed figure but just guessing.
I assume we will find out once the team news is announced tonight whether we are close to signing him.
We've heard so many different figures in this thread and theirs. I struggle to believe we'd give him anything more than £5k a week. It certainly won't be £6k a week MORE than they're offering like that guy said on their forum. Even if it's only a grand more a week more, that's a lot of money. It looks like peanuts but people forget that's like more or you being given a £52k salary increase. It'll be a slight increase, plus the fact moving to us puts him in the shop window for a championship move considerably more than at Mansfield.
Agree no way it’s that much more unless it’s with some significant bonuses entailed, scoring, promotion etc. Even at 52k a year for someone not used to earning that it is a big increase.
Latest update out for those who have not seen - Barnsley target up to 3 strikers with Styles closer to exit | Barnsley Chronicle Quick Summary for those who can't be bothered/cant access the article: After up to 3 attackers. DKD been a main target all summer but we are reluctant to pay to 750k asking price Styles close to leaving to a championship side with a striker coming the other way We are expected to loan some out towards end of window, Marsh one candidate (providing we get strikers in) and Lopata. McCarthy expected to stay as back up. Some midfielders could leave after the arrival of Kelechi.
Scored regularly out on loan last season, albeit in league 2 with Donny and Walsall. 13 goals in 44 appearances.
Only young but his stats are woeful. No appearance in 3 years at WBA.. loan out to Hereford Fylde Donny and Telford and didn't pull any trees up.. His best was at Walsall last year 6 in Twenty games in L2.. still isn't a record to wet the appetite.. Would much prefer are old mates from Luton taking him and giving us Taylor.
You don't think 13 goals in his first full season as a pro is a good return? Admittedly, I've never heard of him, but if we're purely going off numbers on Wikipedia, surely they're not as bad as you've made out.
15 in all comps. As you say that is not bad in first senior loans out. Also scored on his West Brom debut this week in the cup. Assisted by a familiar face Devante Cole.
