Roberts & Pines in the same back 5? Let’s hope they don’t start pinging balls in behind…..

Earl at left wing back I’m guessing.

Got some serious height at set pieces now huh? Roberts, Pines, Earl and Cosgrove.

Surely that has to be 442 with MDG at right back and Earl at left back? No way can Earl play LWB, slowest player in the squad.

I think he's going with the 5 at the back, Earl will be found out in pretty short order and we'll be chasing the game again. I hope hope HOPE I'm wrong.

Earl left wing back with Roberts or Pines left side of the back 3.
Good to see Pines, Roberts and Earl in, shame no Hourihane.

Surprised Mael starting would have kept with Gent and Earl in back 3

    Don't see it as a 442

Why would we sign a specialist LWB then play Earl there?
    Baffled…..

    That's also a seriously weak sub's bench

I think against a team that tore us a new one last season we should play a slow, cumbersome oath at left back. Leaving a proper left back and better defender in Gent and Lofthouse on the bench.

I'd actually like to see Lofthouse get a start. Out of the three potential players for that spot (Earl, Gent and Lofthouse) I think he's been the better of the three so far.

Can I be the first today to say brain fart of a selection from Clarke.

Two/three players on the bench that should have started
