Stop it, stop it, stop it. Stop asking genuine grievance questions; the F.A.G. is only a perfidious vehicle to make BFC customers think that their views and opinions are worthy of consideration.
Have the club ever considered the possibility of a supporters club/bar actually in the town centre? Makes more sense than to try and get everybody to the ground and big habit changes. For instance the unit next to Fridays in the Glassworks. So operate it as a sports bar when not a match day but still BFC themed. Then on a match day it becomes a pre match hub, close to the new bridge to get to the ground. Makes more sense than having an empty social club at Oakwell through the week and they could have events as well like the fans forums or evening with type nights. Could be a decent money spinner for the club.
Can whoever is responsible explain the failure to even mention the passing of such a big fans favourite as Alan Little
Why have so many long standing employees of Barnsley FC with many years of service between them left since the takeover by the original consortium and continue to leave under the current ownership group. What has suddenly made them seek employment elsewhere after many years of loyal service.
Second this. I always rewatch so it’s a huge downgrade. Also, can we get Matt and Callum back asap? The current ‘commentary’ is so bad I had to switch off after 30 minutes and I’ve always been an audio supporter so I’m perfectly happy just listening to a match I can’t get to but it was literally impossible to follow. And now I’m paying £40 odd quid for audio commentary and there isn’t a commentator. I never thought I’d miss ten seconds of nothing followed by a single player’s name and then nothing again on repeat.
what is the clubs media strategy? The website is poor and most of the content on iFollow has no business being behind a paywall. If we want to try and build support and rapport with current fans, why isn’t the club putting more effort in to free content? YouTube/Twitter are under used in comparison to other clubs. experience inside oakwell is poor, staff at kiosks can’t be arsed and it’s impossible to get a drink/ pie unless you come out at about 35-40 mins. If the club has a contract with a catering company can they not influence this in any way to improve service? For the boxing and the first game I wanted to give the club money but was unable to do so. The pint filling machines are quite clever but pointless if the staff can’t be bothered. feel like this wouldn’t take much effort to sort but has been the same for years.
Why has the app for the official site been decommissioned and are there plans to reinstate it / create a new one?
Good question that. They need asking why Barnsley fans who have worked years for the club would rather leave their job with nothing lined up, instead of sticking at it until something comes up to keep paying the bills.
Because people like Whitey and others are no longer at the club to do the honourable things like mentioning the passing of ex players and the new owners and staff don't give a toss obviously
Can we have some buy in/involvement for next seasons kit designs please? Seen some talented reds fans design some superb kits as protypes. Be great to create some interest amongst the talented fans out there.
The Fan Zone. Why can clubs with a smaller fan base and budget than us (Fleetwood, Accrington Stanley, Lincoln to name a few) put us to shame with a much better match day experience than what we have on offer? Today was a prime example at Lincoln, home and away fans together, various food vendors, multiple bars, alcohol at £5 a pint which for a football ground I’d consider cheap, indoor and outdoor facilities etc… Without knocking those who take time to run ours because it’s a thankless task, it’s very limited, not enough seating and the food vendors that they do get from time to time can be on the pricey side. Surely it’s time the powers that be came up with an indoor venue showing the early kick off games serving food and drinks at reasonable prices.
No doubt a purpose built site would need significant investment, if it was me personally I'd involve some of the bigger brewery's alongside some independents too. In a former life I worked in the on trade sector fir a brief period and witnessed many big brewery companies such as Molson coors invest 30/40k in venues but then get their return on investment with 5-10 year tie in period. Let's be honest a purpose built venue yes would cost alot to build but the return for donkeys years would pay off, doesn't have to just be open on home match days.
