Over the years we have had some great threads on here recommending TV shows and books but I can't remember seeing one about Podcasts.

I listen to all the Undr the Cosh football podcasts, I think most on here will know what it is but for those who are not familiar with it it's podcast ran by ex footballers Chris Brown and Jon Parkin.

They interview a different footballer or manager each episode, the majority is telling the funny tales and stories about characters within the game. Some of the episodes can be a lot deeper and discuss a particular players mental health issues and gambling problems etc which shows that footballers are just as human as me and you.

My favourite podcast at the moment is called Our Thing with Sammy the Bull Gravano. Sammy is the ex underboss of the Gambino crime family and is famous for testifying against John Gotti.

It's brilliant, tells you some of the mafia ins and outs and tells you about a lot of the infamous incidents like the assassination of "The Boss of Bosses" Paul Castellano.

What do you listen to and would you recommend trying it?

    Dave

Not the top 20 (NTT20) is an excellent EFL podcast covering all 3 leagues in depth.

    Well worth a listen.

Cheers pal, is it fans, journalists or ex pros that offer their opinion?

Not as grass roots as Undr The Cosh but Quickly Kevin, Will He Score? was a glorious podcast.

Chart Music: The Top of the Pops Podcast is a long-time favourite (ignore the title, just try it)

Outside of that try: Athletico Mince, The Adam Buxton Podcast, Three Bean Salad, A History of Rock Music in 500 Songs, Comfort Blanket, Rule of Three, Let's Be Having You, RHLSTP, Smersh Pod and Top Flight Time Machine.

A couple of great Podcasts there, mate. If you’re a fan of Bob Mortimer, give Athletico Mince a try. It’s barmy but so funny. Also, as suggested above, RHLSTP (Richard Herring’s Leicester Square Theatre Podcast).

    I'd second NTT20, those lads know their stuff. They're fans/journalists I reckon.

I listened to one on bbc sounds called the crossbow killer truly remarkable story well worth a listen. As the title suggests it does involve murder so if your of a nervous disposition give it at miss.

Not a podcast but a YouTube Channel, A Different Bias. It's political (he's a Labour party member) but Phil's from South Yorkshire (Donny I think, lives in Scunthorpe) he's an ex-Physics and Maths teacher so his analysis of polling and economic data are top notch, he tells it how it is and helps you to see through the political spin (including Labour's).

Depends what you're into I guess, but I listen to quite a few STAK podcasts.

Their original one was the Football Ramble, which is great, though mainly about the Premier League. I also listen to WrestleMe, which is under the same umbrella. They also had Clash of the Titles, which is a movie podcast, which was decent, though that's finished now.

The Skewer is good, which is a BBC podcast parodying the news.

Passenger List was decent. It's a fictional Crima Drama about a woman investigating a plane crash which her brother was involved in.

Case File, is a very good true crime podcast. Done by an Australian guy, who has a very soothing voice, it can get a bit dark.

Didn't even realise Sammy Gravano was still alive! Actually thought he snuffed it about 50 year ago

Quickly Kevin was brilliant. I was lucky enough to be at the final show at the Palladium where a certain Kevin Keegan (fittingly) was their final guest

He's 79 now but you still wouldn't fk abart with him.

Some of his stories are brutal, it gives you a better insight into how the mafia worked

I don’t need Podcasts in my life. I just watch Limmy on Twitch for ten minutes and it gives me all the sustenance I’ll ever need.
