Because it’s gone on far too long and becoming a saga pal. Let’s take what we can get and avoid getting sweet f.a.......what’s wrong in that?
Who's made a concrete bid for him for us to either accept/reject? There's talk of the WBA bid but if it's no longer on the table, we have no choice
I ain’t or pretend to be ITK, but like I said in previous post, let’s put him in a “clearance sale”, just to get rid and not end up with nothing. He is over rated and over priced so let’s sell at a price that will sell eh?.....and no I don’t know what that price is but as the saying goes...”If the price is right!”
Prime asset?.....if he was that good he would be gone by now. As posted above, you are only worth what someone is willing to pay. Just hope we don’t finish up with egg on face and he goes for nowt end of season.
Yeah I agree, but if it comes to it, we might have to accept that (him going for nothing). And at least then we will be done with this nonsense, finally, one way or the other!.
I am saying that’s clearly how the club see it. Let’s face it the talent is pretty thin these days for sales. We aren’t getting the 5 million Kitching sale. We probably only have Connell & Phillips that are saleable. Both of those are much harder to replace.
He did come in for him beginning of last season at Watford. Styles even showed a picture of himself in London at the time. It’s clearly the fact that no one thinks he’s worth the money. Otherwise a deal would have been done.
That's for us fans though. Genuinely, Clarke might mean what he says and has plans for Callum, I dunno. I suspect he would because on paper he's a 'big' player in this league, despite what us as fans actually think of him. He may have told the board that he feels Styles is worth more this season to the playing squad than the presumptive 600k offered, I disagree with that and probably is bollcoks, but if styles does stay and is actually in his plans, then I will support him as long as he shows effort for Clarke on the pitch mate.
One thing I know for certain. We will do as we always do as a club and will be scratching around til the last hour on deadline day trying to bring 3 strikers in and only end up with one (who was always our long term target) and I bet styles will end up with another loan!
We kno he can play at this level and I for one would have liked to see him buckle down for this season and help to get the club promoted or at least a play off place. Then next season he can go wherever he wants with most of our blessing. The one thing none of us want is this B*ll***t all over again of is he going or not. We'll end up loaning him out at a cost of most of his wage which we could have used to pay someone who wants to play..If he's not playing because "His heads not in the right place" we should have offered him a no cost contract termination and let him find his own way. It's time clubs had the right to move players on who for whatever reason want the wage without earning it, in this situation he's no different to Oulare...
All for getting the best fees for players etc. and I have been critical of this in the past, whilst also praising the club when they have got good fees for the likes of Kitching and Mads etc. But in this case we just need to get a fee for him and move on. He only has a year left and will not sign a new deal here. He does not want to be here and offers very little when he does play. Just take any sort of fee and invest that money and the wages into a striker who can actually help us out and who wants to be here. We have had this with him for the last two summers, and no Championship club wants to pay a big fee for him cos he isn't that good. Take what we can and move on. Rather take a few hundred grand now, rather than nothing next summer. He won't add much to the team if we do keep him anyway.
Should have left him at Bury, see where he'd have ended up now. Signed him from a club that was soon to be wound up, gave him a go in the Championship, got him in the window to get noticed and picked for Hungarian national team, paying him decent money and he's just shít on us the past 2 seasons and looking like doing the same again this season.
My view for what its worth is that he's not that good anyway. I don't care about this 'his heart isn't in it' stuff. When I've watched him he's done one or two good things and made mistakes as well. His best spell was under Val but that is fast becoming distant history. Hes not progressed thats all that I see. He's not crap, he's ok but he's just been 'ok' for too long now. Ultimately we can do better though if we are to progress. Sell him if possible, trade him if possible but if he plays again under Clarke because he's still here and he doesn't effectively contribute to the team I wouldn't have him on the pitch again. He's not worth the hassle because he's just ok and others deserve a chance. If we end up losing him for free because of his contract that would be a shame of course but as I said I think we can do better if we're trying to build something here.
Let's be honest, he's gone already, he's been gone for some time. A footballer who doesn't play 100% is ,,,,,,, just a bloke. And just a bloke has no place in a professional team, waste of a shirt. I cannot for the life in me understand how any football club would be tempted to part with a significant amount of money to sign a potential 'bloke'.
Clarke's probably realising what a struggle it is to bring quality players into the club unless it's kids on loan or players at the end of their careers, so keeping hold of Styles maybe feels like a good option for him. I've got no problem if he stays but my gut feeling says he'll be gone on deadline day leaving us scratching about trying to bring players in.
Has he actually spoken to any of these teams and agreed possible Terms? I assume that's allowed as he's in the last year of his contract. If so then someone has put a price on him so maybe we should just accept what is offered and move on.
