Looking purely at numbers on Wikipedia, it's not necessarily an encouraging signing. Thankfully, whoever the club sign, we'll have looked beyond that. Though having never seen the lad play, I couldn't honestly comment on how good he is.
I would be surprised if it was one Clarke wanted given he had him at Cheltenham and didn't start him and ultimately saw his loan terminated. One positive I can see is that he can play out wide which does fit what Clarke said before about wanting a winger to possibly play 442. But as I said in my first post, I highly doubt we will sign him anyway.
I saw him play as a sub a couple of times for Cheltenham last season, one of those being our 2-0 win there. On the positive side, he is a player blessed with some pretty impressive ball skills, but, on the negative side, he is very much a lightweight in the man's game age group. I wouldn't be looking at him. Folks have drawn attention to his current record and i would think that he needs at least one more season at academy level before thinking about getting into the higher age group. Save a wage, for me. Now, if it were Jack Fletcher and Man U after Tuesday night, or Will Lankshear from Spurs, I would be saying, 'yes, please.'
That's why using goals and assists per minute is a better measure / comparison, although in this case they are both still zero.
Which is just as big of a worry as the goal record. If he's only managed 5 starts at Cheltenham/Accrington how's he going to be making an impact here? No disrespect to those clubs but both are in L2 now so were not good L1 sides when he was there so if he couldn't get in there last year how is he better than what we have here
I signed both him and Matthew Craig on my Football Manager save, long before we were linked with them. Getting a bit spooky now. If this one happens, I might email the club with other signings I made to speed up the process.
