Sorry mate. I just don't see it same way. If he isn't playing with derf of talent we have and coaching staff we "already" have he wants moving on. Total gimmick.
You're calling the outcome of a marathon after a couple of miles mate. Judge this one at the end of the season, once we know how, when and how often he's been involved vs the times his coachees did their thing
We actually don't have a huge coaching staff though mate otherwise I'd understand. Stead, Devaney, Hourihane & Whitehead behind Clarke (and ofcourse a goalkeeping coach), we have a very moldable squad with plenty of talent in the academy hoping to break through with some great potential bud. I think Hourihane will play too though so perhaps I'm in a minority mate, I don't think he will play bucketloads but when we get further into the season I think he will play a part, but maybe I'm wrong. Hopefully we won't sell Connell or Phillips as those 2 are my mainstays in midfield, and if we go to a diamond 4-4-2 and have essentially 4 midfielders, Conor will come in very handy I imagine, he's certainly not a bad option off the bench! I'm not taking into consideration Wolfe or Benson though, so maybe he may be even further down the line, but I'll be surprised - I think both should be moved on if possible I'm still mass excited about this season. I really hope we sign some half decent strikers because that excitement will stay, if not it might just evaporate
We need to back this guy mate. First bloke in ages I haven't thought was a total arsehole. I stick up for a few and slag em' off too when results go awry. I like to post n' be pantomime villain but I believe in Clarke. I don't want anything undermining him.
Me too mate. Genuine excitement. I love his no nonsense comments when we've played ****. Says it how it is and doesn't hold back. Proper gaffer. Fingers crossed he gets backed with some forwards and we have a great season
From where have you got this idea that Hourihane is making himself unavailable? Clarke picks the team. If Hourihane isn't in it it's because Clarke has deemed that other players are more worthy of a place. That's it. There is no other interpretation.
Hourihane appointment in my opinion is a fast track to management get him his badges be in and around the first team learn from Clarke. He's a intelligent bloke is Conor we are a great starting point infact he's jumped quite a few stages which was set up by him on leaving as a player can't blame him cleaver move. If Clarke stays for another couple of years I wager quite heavily we are looking at the next head coach.
Based on transfer activity and his press comments thus far Clarke won't be here at the end of the season and Hourihane will be managing the club. Two key variables can alter that hypothesis giving Clarke the tools to do the job and winning matches. Unfortunately the two depend on each other. We could end up with a manager walking out. Hourihane galvanising the team for 4 months. Staying up and then getting some compo for Hourihane when Derby or Plymouth come calling.
Two men of same age with differing physical attributes, fitness and health. Who'd have thought it. Ronaldo is 3 years older than me. Best get my boots on.
