Straight away?
Yesterday he was engaging his lawyers at all costs.
Only today when it looks like he's nowhere to hide has he fronted up.

Admittedly quicker than most front up

 

Is sending inappropriate texts to a consenting adult female a sackable offence. I guess that’s what his lawyers will argue.
Morally obviously wrong given he’s married with three kids, but unless it was sending unsolicited texts to people who then made a complaint, seems to be a bit harsh to be sacked. There will be two sides to the story and it seems like the BBC have been a bit knee jerk. Probably following the scandals they’ve had recently.

 

I must admit I'm surprised at this, because Jermaine does come across well, as a footy pundit and co-commentator.
And to be honest, I don't watch The One show!.
My first thought before reading more about it though, was ohh no.. surely hes not another Huw Edwards type person!.

Yes, was going to mention the same. Surely there is more to this story? Sending flirty messages to colleges, being asked to stop, still doing it anyway perhaps? In that case fair enough. Hes a scumbag for trying it on whilst having a wife and kids at home but if its nothing too sinister or abusive, I'm not sure the absolute paragon of moral acuity within the BBC can be judge, jury and executioner here with what they've done and hidden in both the near and distant past.

When all the Saville stuff came out at the time, did any of us realise then what an absolutely massive can of worms, was about to be opened!.
Look at the celebs who have been named and shamed for offences since then. And yet people still claim that the Beeb and Itv knew all about them, and chose to ignore it.
I dont know if that's true of course, but I do agree it does seem extremely harsh for the Beeb to react like they have done, regarding Jenas.

 

I knew about Jimmy savile in the early 80s and was told he was at it in the early 70s but it was all hearsay.

What if the BBC have panicked and acted hard and fast because they've been tied down by a tiny kangaroo and had to fix a few problems for Jim in the past? Not to mention Gordon the Gofa being taken in the broom cupboard and used as a w@nk sock by silver rinse. Then there's Huw Edwards wanting Richard pics and a nice romp in the urinals after work.

 

The beeb are on the back foot regarding anything of this nature the great and the good i use this term very loosely can't afford another scandal. Janus is another who's got a massive ego thinking with his manhood believing he can get away with treating people however he likes.

 

The term " consenting adults" throws a bit of a curve ball into the whole thing doesn't it' it infers that the women in question were also texting him back in the same vein' if thats the case why is it a sacking offence?' A divorce offence maybe.

 

Might be some work based code about keeping relationships with work colleagues professional.
